NOMINATIONS AND ELECTION NOTICE
DELEGATES TO UNITE HERE! INTERNATIONAL UNION CONVENTION
MEMBERSHIP MEETING
At our Quarterly General Membership Meeting in April, the membership will have the business item of
nominating and electing 13 Delegates and 13 Alternate Delegates to the UNITE HERE! International Union
Convention. The Local 362 Executive Board set the number of delegates for which Local 362 will pay the
expenses of attendance at 8 total. The delegates whose expenses are paid shall be the delegates by virtue of office
and the others determined in the order of the number of votes received or by lot in the event of ties or an
uncontested election. Other delegates will have to pay their own way if they wish to attend the Convention. If
Local 362 regular delegates are not able to attend the convention, alternate delegates will be sent to the
convention in the order of the number of votes received.

This Convention, which will be held in Boston, Massachusetts, from June 25 – June 27, 2014, is required by the
UNITE HERE! Constitution (Article 2, section 2).
NOMINATIONS
Nominations will take place at the April Membership Meeting at the date, times and place indicated above. To be
eligible for nomination as a Delegate or Alternate, a member must have been in good standing for at least one
year before nominations. To attend the convention, the member must have been “actively attached to the industry
for one year” before the convention opens. A member must not have been convicted of one of the serious crimes
listed in section 504 of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act.
ELECTION
In order to be eligible to vote, a member must be in good standing on the date of the election. This means that
your dues have been paid at least through February. You are also in good standing if you became a member in
March or April.
Members are required to present picture identification in order to vote.
The election of Local 362 Delegates and Alternate Delegates to the UNITE HERE! International Union
Convention will be conducted at the date, times and place listed above.

REUNIÓN DE MEMBRESÍA
En nuestra Reunión General Trimestral de Membresía de abril, los miembros tendrán la tarea de nominar y elegir a 13 Delegados
y 13 Delegados Alternos para la Convención Internacional de Sindicatos UNITE HERE! La Junta Directiva del Local 362
estableció que el número total de delegados será 8 delegados cuyos gastos de asistencia a la Convención serán costeados por el
Local 362. Los delegados cuyos gastos serán pagados, serán los delegados según su posición oficial y los otros serán
determinados en el orden del número de votos que reciban o por lote si ocurren empates o haya alguna elección sin oposición.
Otros delegados tendrán que costear sus propios gastos si desean asistir a la Convención. Si los delegados regulares del Local 362
no pueden asistir a la convención, se enviarán a delegados alternos a la convención según el número de votos que reciban.
La Reunión de Membresía del mes de abril se llevará a cabo:

Esta Convención, que tendrá lugar en Boston, Massachusetts, del 25 de junio al 27 de junio del 2014, es un requerimiento de la
Constitución de UNITE HERE! (Artículo 2, sección 2).
NOMINACIONES
Las nominaciones se llevarán a cabo en la Reunión de Membresía del mes de abril, en la fecha, hora y lugar arriba indicados. Para
poder ser nominado como Delegado o Alterno, el miembro debe haber mantenido un buen expediente durante al menos un año
antes de las nominaciones. Para asistir a la convención, el miembro debe haber estado “activamente involucrado en la industria
durante un año” antes de que comience la convención. Un miembro no debe haber sido convicto de cualquiera de los crímenes
serios que se listan en la sección 504 de la ley “Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act”.
ELECCIÓN
Para poder votar, el miembro debe ser un miembro con buen estátus para la fecha de la elección. Esto significa que sus cuotas
como miembro han sido pagadas incluyendo el mes de febrero. También un miembro puede ser miembro con buen estátus si se
hizo miembro en marzo o abril. A la hora de votar se les requiere a los miembros mostrar su identificación con foto.
