Catalog AYVA 046 - Tensy Krismant & Miguel Núñez - Pacífico Tensy Krismant (p, ky), Miguel Núñez (p, ky) Like mysteries of the spirit, the ocean hides calms and turbulences. The temporary stillness of the sea, its renewal and its depth, can, as few things, outline an exact map of man, whose exploration is always gratifying and bitter. This act of knowledge is approached in Pacífico (Pacific) through the encounter with great works of Cuban and universal music, together with new compositions that reveal the obsession with arriving another imagined coast. By virtue of this search, the new creations of Tensy Krismant and Miguel Núñez have been part of projects where diverse languages merge —graphic, poetic, and audiovisual—, in order to offer a plural homage to the human being. Some of the proposals are the documentary made by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) about the traffic in children, the documentary Asia en Barcelona (Asia in Barcelona), produced by De Armas Film, and the Cuban feature film Mañana (Tomorrow), directed by Alejandro Moya (Iskánder). That’s how another voyage of discovery falls within Pacífico, inspired this time by the finding of new routes for the reunion of man and for peace. AV 101 Varios ... A few years ago some of Samuel Maynez’s manuscripts came to our hands during a Cello pedagogy course in Mexico D.C. Back in Europe, we very much liked those manuscripts and we asked Samuel to keep on sending us his music. It was the beginning of a bounding and exciting musical relationship. When performing his music, both in Europe and Mexico, we had a great feedback from the audience. People were smiling after the concerts and that encouraged us to play and share Maynez’s music. This CD has the triple attraction of being an audio, video and a set of 12 music sheets.
