Abordaje terapéutico en el Virus de la Hepatitis C: ¿Simeprevir o Sofosbuvir? Cristina Mencías Castillejo Introducción D.N.I.: 04852542W Universidad Complutense de Madrid Material y métodos La prevalencia de personas infectadas con el Virus de la Hepatitis C (VHC) es de 140 millones en todo el mundo. La infección crónica además aumenta la probabilidad de aparición de cirrosis y carcinoma hepático1. Existen varios genotipos, de los cuales el 1 predomina en Europa y EEUU, seguido del 2 y 3. En África del Norte y Central es frecuente el 2 y 4, mientras que en Asia el 2 y 6. El VHC pertenece a la familia Flaviridae, posee un diámetro aproximado de 50nm y una sola cadena de ARN en sentido positivo (5´-3´).
