No estará nunca enfermo ni transmitirá la anomalía a su descendencia. PORTADOR: El gato lleva una copia normal y otra mutada del gen PKD1 implicado en el riñon poliquístico. Podrá desarrollar la enfermedad y transmitirá la anomalía a la mitad de su descendencia. ESPECIFICACIONES DEL TEST PRECISIÓN DEL ANÁLISIS: Este test es específico del riñon poliquístico. El test se basa en la detección de un alelo mutado del gen PKD1 que determina la pérdida de un 25% de la proteína resultante. FIABILIDAD DEL ANÁLISIS. (1) SENSIBILIDAD: La probabilidad de identificación correcta de la forma mutada del gen PKD1 en un gato portador es superior al 99%. (2) ESPECIFICIDAD: La probabilidad de una identificación correcta de la forma normal del gen PKD1 en un animal sano o portador es superior al 99%. ANIMAL STATUS CLEAR: The cat carries two normal copies of the gene underlying ADPKD or Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease. It will not develop the condition and will not transmit this anomaly to its progeny. CARRIER: The cat carries one normal copy and one mutated copy of the gene PKD1 underlying polycystic kidney disease. It can develop the condition and will transmit this anomaly to half of its progeny. TEST SPECIFICATIONS TEST ACCURACY: This test is specific to the polycystic kidney. This test relies on the detection of the mutated form of the PKD1 gene which causes a loss of 25% of the resulting protein. TEST RELIABILITY: (1) SENSITIVITY: Probability of correct identification of the mutated form of the PKD1 gene in a carrier is higher than 90%. (2) SPECIFICITY: Probability of correct identification of the normal form of PKD1 gene in a clear or carrier individual is higher than 99%.
