Toy Drive: The National Honor Society members are starting this week on Monday, November 18, to gather up
used toys and games to go to the less fortunate children in the Brazos valley. They are asking everyone to participate
in this toy drive and it is a great opportunity to think of others who may be less fortunate in our area, especially
during the holidays. Gently used toys will be collected until Friday, December 6th. The toys that are gathered will
be taken to the area MASH Toy Drive at the Post Oak Mall on Saturday, December 7 th. If you have any toys to
donate please send them with your child to school.
Mumford Student Council Food Drive: The week begins our annual food drive! The Mumford Student
Council helps in collecting food and nonperishable items for the Brazos Valley Food for Family Food Drive. These
items will be collected beginning today, Monday November 18th and will continue through Monday, Dec. 9th.
There will be a challenge to see which homeroom will bring in the most items. Nonperishable items include
any type of canned item (soups, tuna, chicken, vegetables, and fruits), boxed pastas, and paper goods (plates,
toilet paper, paper towels, etc). We appreciate all those that give!
Thanksgiving Holiday Break: We wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving! We will have an early dismissal on
Wednesday, November 27st at 12:00 noon to begin our Thanksgiving Holiday. There will be NO SCHOOL on
Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th. School will resume on Monday, December 2nd at 7:40 am.
Homecoming Court: Congratulations to all those elected to the 2013 Homecoming Court. They include: Freshman
Duchess: Taylor Lee, Sophomore Duchess: Gabrielle Sifuentes, Junior: AAliyah Gomez, and Senior Duchesses: Brianna
Jutson and Taylor Saenz. The Homecoming Queen crowned on Friday night was Sierra Deal. Congratulations to all
these young ladies!
Congratulations: Our district honors in volleyball were recently released. Congratulations to the following
for All District Honors: First Team All-District – Abbie Eckenrode, 2nd Team All-District – Hanna McCarver & Angel
Gongora, Honorable Mention – Brianna Jutson. Being named to the 1st Team All Academic were the following players:
Angel Gongora, Brianna Jutson, Jessica Macias, Erica Tygrett, Abbie Eckenrode, Emily Scamardo, Hanna McCarver
and Mikaela Stephens. Congratulations to all these students!
EOC Re-Test: Students who did not pass the English I and/or English II EOC (Reading and/or writing) last year
will be retested during the week of December 2 – 6th. Testing for English I (Writing) will be on Monday, Dec 2,
English I (Reading) on Tues, Dec 3, English II (Writing) on Wed, Dec 4, and English II (Reading) on Thurs, Dec 5. If
you need to take one of these exams please be sure you get plenty of rest the night before and a good breakfast!
Mark Your Calendars – Christmas Program: This year the Christmas program will take place on Thursday,
Dec 12th at 7:00 PM in the main gym. Students in grade Pre k – 2nd have been working very hard on their
songs and skits! The Drama class will also be performing that evening; we are excited to share with parents
and family members what the students have been working on!

Colección de Juguetes: Los miembros de la Sociedad Nacional de Honor están comenzando esta semana del lunes
18 de noviembre a recoger juguetes y juegos usados para los niños menos afortunados en el valle de Brazos. Están
pidiendo que todos participen en esta colecta de juguetes. Esta es una gran oportunidad para pensar en otros que
pueden ser menos afortunados en nuestra zona durante estos días festivos. Juguetes suavemente usados se
recogerán hasta el viernes 6 de diciembre y estos serán llevados al MASH Toy Drive en la Post Oak Mall el sábado 7
de diciembre. Si usted tiene cualquier juguete para donar por favor envíelos con su hijo a la escuela.
Colección de Alimentos del Consejo Estudiantil de Mumford: Esta semana comienza nuestra campaña anual de
alimentos! El Consejo Estudiantil de Mumford ayuda en la colección de alimentos y artículos no perecederos para el
“Brazos Valley Food for Family Food Drive” (colección de alimentos para familias del valle de Brazos). Estos artículos
serán recolectados a partir de hoy lunes 18 de noviembre y continuará hasta el lunes 9 de diciembre. Habrá un reto
para ver qué salón traerá la mayoría de artículos. Artículos no perecederos incluyen cualquier tipo de alimento
enlatado (sopas, atún, pollo, verduras y frutas), pastas en cajas, y productos de papel (platos desechables, papel de
baño, toallas de papel, etc.) Agradecemos a todos los que dan!
Vacaciones de Acción de Gracias: Les deseamos a todos un Feliz Día de Gracias! Tendremos una salida
temprana el Miércoles noviembre 27 a las 12:00 para comenzar nuestras vacaciones de Acción de Gracias. No
habrá ESCUELA el jueves 28 de noviembre y el viernes 29 de noviembre. Clases se reanudarán el lunes 2 de
diciembre a las 7:40 am.
Corte de Homecoming: Felicitaciones a todos los elegidos para la Corte de Homecoming del 2013. Estos incluyen:

EOC Re-Examen: Estudiantes que no pasaron Inglés I y/o Inglés II EOC (lectura y/o escritura) el año pasado serán
dados el examen de nuevo durante la semana del 2 al 6 de diciembre. Pruebas de Inglés I (escritura) serán el lunes 2
de diciembre, de Inglés I (lectura) el martes 3 de diciembre, Inglés II (escritura) el miércoles 4 de diciembre, e
Inglés II (lectura) el jueves 5 de diciembre. Si tienes que tomar uno de estos exámenes asegúrate de que descanses
lo suficiente la noche anterior y tomes un buen desayuno!
Marquen su Calendarios - Programa de Navidad: Este año el programa de Navidad será el jueves 12 de
diciembre a las 7:00 PM en el gimnasio principal. Los estudiantes en grados Pre K al 2 han estado trabajando muy duro
en sus canciones y actos! La clase de teatro también dará una presentación esa noche. Estamos muy contentos de
compartir con los padres y miembros de la familia de lo que los estudiantes han estado practicando!
