Subject pronouns

Explicación: (leer en casa, antes de la clase)
The words "I", "you", "he", "she", "we", "you-all", and "they" have the following corresponding
words in Spanish:
I
Yo
Tu (informal)
You
Usted (Ud.) (formal)
Ustedes (you all)
He, It
El
She, It
Ella
We Nosotras/os
They
Ellos/as
"Usted" is more formal. "Tú" is more familiar and is used among friends, coworkers, relatives,
or when addressing a child.
Speaking to your boss or teacher: usted
Speaking to your daughter or friend: tú
Spanish is more gender-specific than English. So, in Spanish, there are two ways to say "we":
nosotros
we (masculine or mixed group)
nosotras
we (feminine)
Translations of I, you, he, she, it, we, you and they are many times omitted in Spanish
because the action word shows who is performing the action.

1. Study the following vocabulary: La familia y Profesiones de cuello blanco
Actividades: (en clase)
1. The instructor points at some pictures of Personajes and asks you to mention their
names and professions. Ex. Él es Andy García. El es actor. Use as a reference the
following vocabulary: Profesiones de cuello blanco.
2. Ask your tutor about his/her family using as a reference the following reading Mi familia.
Introduce your family to your instructor as well.
3. Complete the following chart about your relatives and their occupations in the activity Mi
familia y sus profesiones. Write a list of different profesions or occupations and rank
them using words such as muy intersante, poco interesante, aburrido and muy aburrido,
etc.
