CC-CS IN ALICANTE: PROCEDURE FOR SELECTING COURSES AT THE
UNIVERSIDAD DE ALICANTE (UA)
This guide will help you through the process of selecting courses from the UA website.
1. Go to http://sri.ua.es/es/movilidad/visitantes/estudiantes-visitantes.html
2. Under Año Académico click on your academic year.
3. Under Información sobre Estudios click on Programas de estudios de grado/Undergraduate
Programmes.
The following is an example of how you can find a course:
1. Under Facutald de Filosofía y Letras click on Licenciatura en Historia
2. Scroll down to Optativa. Click on Cine e Historia Contemporánea (8054).
3. Change Año académico (right-hand corner) to the correct year.
4. All the necessary information is here. It’s important that you read it carefully by clicking on the various tabs
across the top of the page. For instance, click on the tab for Horarios y Grupos. The most important part is
where it says Grupos de matrícula (at bottom). This is where it specifies the duration of the course.
In this case, the class runs during the 1er cuatrimestre (Fall).
You will encounter three types of courses:
• 1er cuatrimestre (1st semester) = Fall
• 2do cuatrimestre (2nd semester) = Spring
• Anual (yearlong) = You may only choose this if you are studying abroad for the
full academic year
Make sure that the semester of your course corresponds with when you will be abroad
(ie Fall or Spring semester).
Disregard pre-requisites, as they do not apply to international students at UA.
When selecting courses for your CC-CS application, please list the course title and its four digit code. Keep in mind
that this is your pre-registration, and that it is not definite. Once you begin your classes in Alicante, there will be a
two week add/drop period where you can decide if your courses fit your interests and if not, change them with the
assistance of the Resident Director.
