Die Liebe als episches Martyrium, aus dem erst das Jenseits Erlösung und
Erfüllung verspricht, ist das Thema des neuen Films von Julián Hernández.
Erzählt wird die Geschichte von Kieri und Ryo, zwei Männern, die sich bedingungslos lieben. Aus der Unbedingtheit dieser Liebe schöpfen sie den
Sinn ihres Lebens. Doch die gegenseitige Hingabe währt nicht ewig. Ryo
wird entführt, und für Kieri beginnt eine mystische Reise. Er weiß nicht, dass
es das „Corazón del cielo“, das Herz des Himmels selbst ist, das den Liebenden auf seiner Suche führt und beschützt, seine Sehnsucht immer
wieder anstachelnd.
Für Ryo sind Flucht, Suche und Warten die Stationen seines einsamen Weges, auf dem er sterben wird, während Kieri in seiner Bemühung, den
Geliebten wiederzufinden, seinen Körper für Ryos Auferstehung opfert. Im
Todeskampf bedeckt die Erde, angeführt vom „Corazón del cielo“, die Körper der Liebenden, so dass neues Leben aus ihnen wachsen kann. Im Tod
vereint, kehren Ryo und Kieri über den Mythos ins Leben zurück – denn wer
zur bedingungslosen Liebe fähig ist, wird vom Himmel nicht vergessen.
RAGING SUN, RAGING SKY
In his latest film, Julián Hernández portrays love as an epic act of martyrdom
in which redemption and fulfilment can only be found in the afterlife. This
new work tells the story of two men, Kieri and Ryo, and their unquestioning
love for each other. The absoluteness of this love gives meaning to their
lives. But their mutual devotion is not to last – Ryo is abducted and, as a
result, Kieri must now embark upon a mysterious journey. Unbeknown to
him, it is “Corazón del cielo”, or heaven’s heart herself that leads and protects
the lovers on their quest and spurs on Kieri’s longing.
Escape, searching and waiting are the stages of Ryo’s lonely journey which
ends in his death, while Kieri, desperate to find his beloved, agrees to sacrifice his body to bring about Ryo’s resurrection. When they die, “Corazón del
cielo” guides the earth to cover them, so that new life can spring from their
demise. United in death, Ryo and Kieri return to life through myth – for
heaven does not forget those capable of unconditional love.

L’amour comme martyre épique, où c’est seulement l’au-delà qui promet la
rédemption et l’accomplissement, tel est le thème du nouveau film de
Julián Hernández qui raconte l’histoire de Kieri et Ryo, deux hommes qui
s’aiment de manière inconditionnelle. Ils puisent le sens de leur vie dans
l’absolu de cet amour. Pourtant, ce don de soi réciproque ne dure pas éternellement. Ryo est enlevé et c’est pour Kieri le début d’un voyage mystique.
Il ne sait pas que c’est « Corazón del cielo », le cœur du ciel, qui guide et protège l’amant dans sa quête, aiguisant sans cesse son désir.
Pour Ryo, la fuite, la recherche et l’attente sont les étapes de la voie solitaire sur laquelle il va mourir tandis que Kieri, dans ses efforts pour retrouver
son amant, offre son corps pour la résurrection de Ryo. Il est à l’agonie
lorsque la terre, guidée par « Corazón del cielo », recouvre le corps des
amants afin que puisse en surgir une nouvelle vie. Réunis dans la mort, Ryo
et Kieri reviennent à la vie dans le mythe – en effet, le ciel n’oublie pas celui
qui est capable d’aimer de manière inconditionnelle.

Biografie
Geboren 1972 in Mexiko-Stadt. Absolvierte 1989-94 ein Filmstudium an der
staatlichen Universität UNAM, wo er
seine ersten Kurzfilme realisierte. Hat
auch als Szenenbildner am Theater
gearbeitet und ist Gründer der Cooperativa Cinematográfica Morelos. Sein
Spielfilmdebüt MIL NUBES DE PAZ
CERCAN EL CIELO, AMOR, JAMÁS
ACABARÁS DE SER AMOR wurde auf
der Berlinale 2003 mit dem Teddy
ausgezeichnet. 2006 präsentierte das
IFB-Panorama EL CIELO DIVIDIDO.
Biography
Born in Mexico City in 1972, he graduated in film from the state university,
UNAM, where he studied from 198994 and made his first short films. A set
builder in the theatre, he is also the
founder of the Cooperativa Cinematográfica Morelos. His feature film debut,
MIL NUBES DE PAZ CERCAN EL CIELO,
AMOR, JAMÁS ACABARÁS DE SER
AMOR received a Teddy at the 2003
Berlinale. In 2006 the festival’s Panorama section screened his film, EL
CIELO DIVIDIDO.

Biographie
Né à Mexico en 1972. Etudie le cinéma
à l’université nationale des arts médiatiques (UNAM) où il réalise ses premiers courts. Travaille aussi comme
concepteur de décors au théâtre et
fonde la Cooperativa Cinematográfica
Morelos. Son premier long métrage de
fiction, MIL NUBES DE PAZ CERCAN EL
CIELO, AMOR, JAMÁS ACABARÁS DE
SER AMOR, reçoit le Teddy de la Berlinale 2003. Invité au Panorama de la
Berlinale 2006 avec EL CIELO DIVIDIDO.
