Oracle OTN Tour 2012 – Biografía de Expositores Dimitri Gielis Dimitri first began his career working for Oracle Belgium as a consultant where he got in touch with almost every Oracle product. His main expertise was in the database area, but at that time he got also in touch with Oracle Application Express (APEX / HTMLDB). From the very start he liked APEX so much he never stopped working with it. Dimitri then switched to another company to create an Oracle team and do pre-sales, to later create and manage an Oracle Business Unit. Dimitri is a frequent presenter at all the major Oracle conferences and is Vice President of the IOUG APEX SIG. Dimitri is the co-founder of Apex Evangelists (http://www.apex-evangelists.com), a company that specializes in providing training, development, and consulting specifically for the Oracle Application Express product. You can contact Dimitri at dimitri.gielis@apex-evangelists.com Session 1: Oracle Application Express (APEX) Overview What is Oracle Application Express (APEX)? Why would you use APEX? Are many companies/people using APEX? How do you build applications with APEX and let other people use them? Is there a roadmap? So many questions about APEX... if you want to get an overview of Oracle Application Express (APEX) and a good feeling where and how to use it, this session is for you. Session 2: Building an APEX Application (live demo) This is a no-slide zone presentation. Dimitri will build an APEX application on stage and explain the different components in APEX while he's doing it. Building tables, reports and forms, integrating charts, making your application more interactive and extending APEX with plugins is all part of the session. It will be a very interactive session; the audience can participate in what gets build, so it will be interesting what the result will be at the end of the session! Sergio Augusto Tribst Is graduated in Business Administration and has more than 20 years of experience in IT, most of them working with infrastructure, Datacenter and IT Services. His past 5 years were dedicated to Servers Virtualization and Cloud solutions.Recently joined to Oracle, Sérgio is responsible for support Oracle Linux and OVM development in Latin America, helping customers better understand the value of Oracle solution and to implement technology effectively and according to best practices. Session 1: What's New in Oracle VM Server for x86 This technical session will cover Oracle VM server virtualization product directions, and the latest features in Oracle VM 3.1. Discover the unique value being delivered to the Oracle user community with innovative solutions like Oracle VM Templates and integrated life cycle management which makes it easier to deploy and manage cloud solutions, while lowering cost of deployment. This session is must for all users that are looking for well tested, proven and reliable virtualization solutions for their Oracle environments. Session 2: Why Choose Oracle Linux and the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel This session will cover the latest updates for Oracle Linux. We’ll discuss how Oracle Linux brings the latest Linux innovations to market, delivering extreme performance, advanced scalability, and reliability for enterprise applications. Attendees will hear what the combination of Oracle Linux and Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel deliver, and where we are headed with features like Ksplice zero downtime updates, DTrace, and more. Last but not least find out the top reasons why you should use Oracle Linux for the Oracle stack. Noel Portugal Noel is WebCenter/Oracle Social Network Evangelist at Oracle Corporation. Session 1: How Fusion Middleware Built the Fusion User Experience See how you can leverage the entire Fusion Middleware stack to create a compelling user experience, just like Oracle's Applications User Experience team did during the design of Fusion Applications. Learn about key Fusion Middleware components that comprise Oracle's new endto-end user experience platform in Fusion Applications. Hear about the role of components such as Application Development Framework (ADF), WebCenter, Metadata Services (MDS), Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and Design Patterns. The presentation will include a demo of Fusion Applications, and a behind-the-scenes look at how Fusion Middleware is leveraged to create these engaging experiences. Bruno Souza (Javaman) Java Engineer/Architect, Author. Also known as Javaman, this Brazilian is a tireless advocate for open source and Java. Session 1: Collaborative Java Development Modern Java development teams have a large set of tools that can dramatically improve their development process. This presentation will cover a full application lifecycle management environment, with a sophisticated set of open source tools, showing how every Java development team can benefit from the huge advances in agile methodologies. We will also show how you can use the advantages of cloud computing to improve your testing capabilities. Session 2: The Future Java Developer New languages, work environments, technologies, and devices. Clouds roll in bringing new rules. The future is now, what comes later? Java developers thread on a fine line between working standards and bleeding edge science-fiction experiments. What are the possibilities for the future? Can new languages available for the JVM warp the realities of software development? Will Java really be part of the new flock of devices? Cloud computing is changing the game, how Java is a fundamental part of it? New environments affect our code and skills we must have, how does our experience count? Are we prepared? This session will explore possibilities for the future of development, sharing insights on what's coming up in the future of Java Manuel Contreras Manuel es Ingeniero en Sistemas Computacionales, con especialidad en software, esta certificado como: MySQL DBA y es usuario de MySQL desde hace más de 7 años.
