Hy-Pro24 è l’innovativa tecnologia Mirage che permette di trattare il gres
porcellanato con biossido di titanio (TiO2), includendolo nella struttura superficiale
del materiale. Il trattamento è inoltre potenziato da elementi metallici attivi contro
germi e batteri, che contribuiscono efficacemente alla loro eliminazione. Il gres
porcellanato Mirage, già forte delle sue elevate prestazioni tecniche, diventa in
questo modo un materiale fotocatalitico antinquinante e igienizzante, autopulente
su facciate ventilate, unendo ai vantaggi del gres porcellanato Mirage tutti
i benefici del biossido di titanio e degli elementi metallici ad esso aggiunti. La

of the material. The treatment is further
enhanced by active metal elements
that combat germs and bacteria,
giving an effective contribution to their
removal. Mirage porcelain stoneware,
which already boasts excellent
technical performance, thus becomes
an anti-pollution, hygienising,
photocatalytic material, self-cleaning
on ventilated facades, combining
the advantages of Mirage porcelain
stoneware with all the benefits
of titanium dioxide and the metal
elements added to it. The technology
used employs an innovative fixing
process, creating a building material
in which this treatment is no longer
just a surface layer that can easily
be scratched by walking on it, but
actually becomes an integral part of
the ceramic material itself. The action
of the Hy-Pro24 treatment thus proves
to be abrasion-resistant and able to
last over time.

available in the building industry

they are activated by the presence
of UV rays, and are therefore almost

applications, while the hygienising
effect of the Hy-Pro24 treatment

all is present, thus guaranteeing

IL BIOSSIDO DI TITANIO
E LA FOTOCATALISI.
Il biossido di titanio (TiO2) trova svariati impieghi: vernici, materie plastiche, cosmesi, sensoristica, etc...
In natura, il TiO2 è presente nelle forme cristalline di rutilo, brookite e anatasio, l’ultima delle quali
viene utilizzata per il trattamento in quanto maggiormente fotoattivo. Hy-Pro24 è inoltre un trattamento atossico e biocompatibile.
La principale proprietà di Hy-Pro24 è la sua elevata
capacità fotocatalitica, che rende le superfici trattate eco-attive. Con l’irraggiamento ultravioletto del
materiale trattato, i processi naturali di decomposizione e smaltimento (per ossidazione) di sostanze
inquinanti e dannose per l’uomo, normalmente lenti,
vengono notevolmente accelerati grazie all’energia
dei raggi UV assorbiti. Questo accumulo di energia
viene impiegato, a contatto con l’aria, per innescare
reazioni chimiche a catena, che ossidano e decompongono le sostanze inquinanti organiche, trasformandole in composti innocui come nitrati, carbonati
e anidride carbonica.
Elementi potenzialmente pericolosi per la salute presenti nell’aria, e depositati sulle superfici, vengono
quindi attaccati ed eliminati dall’azione di Hy-Pro24,
che è in grado di neutralizzare fino al 100% queste
sostanze (come verificato nelle condizioni sperimentali di laboratorio).

Sempre grazie alle proprietà fotocatalitiche di Hy-Pro24,
i materiali trattati assumono proprietà super-idrofile, grazie a cui l’acqua tende ad aderire perfettamente alle superfici, facilitando la rimozione delle
particelle sporcanti e macchianti. Queste superfici
assumono pertanto proprietà autopulenti in applicazioni verticali esterne.
Una caratteristica fondamentale del trattamento è
infine il mantenimento dell’eco-attività nel tempo,
grazie al particolare processo di fissaggio: l’inclusione del biossido di titanio nella struttura superficiale
della materia ceramica lo rende parte inscindibile
del materiale, quindi resistente e duraturo al pari del
gres porcellanato stesso. Nel processo di fotocatalisi
inoltre il supporto trattato non viene in alcun modo
degradato dalle reazioni, poiché questo le facilita

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is used in
various applications: paints, plastics,
cosmetics, sensors, etc.
In nature, TiO2 is found in the
crystalline forms of rutile, brookite
and anatase, the latter of which is
used for the treatment as it is the
most photo-active. The Hy-Pro 24
treatment is therefore non-toxic
and biocompatible.
The main property of Hy-Pro24 is its
excellent photocatalytic capacity,
which makes surfaces treated
eco-active. The ultraviolet radiation
of the material treated significantly
accelerates the normally slow natural
processes of decomposition and
elimination (by oxidation) of polluting
substances harmful to humans,
thanks to the energy of the UV rays
absorbed. Upon contact with the air,
the accumulated energy is used to
trigger a series of chemical chain
reactions, which oxidise and break
down the polluting substances,
turning them into harmless
compounds such as nitrates,
carbonates and carbon dioxide.
The elements potentially dangerous
to health present in the air, and
deposited on the surfaces, are
therefore attacked and eliminated
by the action of Hy-Pro24, which is
able to neutralise up to 100% of
these substances (as verified under
experimental laboratory conditions).
Thanks to the photo catalytic
properties of Hy-Pro24, the treated
materials take on super-hydrophilic
properties, thanks to which water
tends to adhere perfectly to surfaces,
facilitating the removal of any particles
that can cause them to become dirty
or stained. These surfaces therefore
take on self-cleaning properties, in
vertical outdoor applications.
A final fundamental characteristic
of the treatment is that it remains
eco-active over time, thanks to the
specific fixing process: the inclusion
of titanium dioxide in the transparent
structure of the ceramic material
makes it an indivisible part of the
material, and therefore hard wearing
and long lasting. In addition, during
the process of photocatalysis, the
support treated is not degraded in any
way by the reactions, since it facilitates
them without being directly involved in
them. This guarantees the continuous,
lasting efficacy of the action.

L’azione eco-attiva di Hy-Pro24 degrada efficacemente

ore di attività del trattamento, infatti, Hy-Pro24 è in grado
