PAST SIMPLE It is a tense used to express an action happened in the past it means that it ends in the past. Reglas para la formación del pasado simple de los verbos regulares: - La forma del pasado simple en los verbos regulares agrega ed - ied - doble consonante ed - d a la base del verbo. Ejemplos: Install – installed execute – executed connect – connected - Cuando el verbo regular termina en y, precedida por consonante, se cambia la y por i y agrega ed. Ejemplos: Cry – cried study – studied hurry – hurried - Si la base del verbo termina en una sola consonante precedida por una sola vocal, se duplica la consonante final y agrega ed Ejemplos: Stop – stopped plan – planned occur – occurred Hay excepciones: offer – offered travel – traveled - Cuando el verbo regular termina en e, agrega d. Save - saved close - closed paste - pasted Algunos verbos son irregulares, eso quiere decir que no forman el pasado simple con ed, sino, que cambian su base o raíz. En la siguiente tabla hay algunos verbos irregulares.
