3RD SUNDAY OF ADVENT
SECOND COLLECTION
THE YEAR OF MERCY
"Jesus Christ is the face of the Father's Mercy." With these
Everyone is looking for the perfect gift for family members
and friends. Please don’t forget your Church. This weekend,
December 12-13, the Second Collection will be your “Gift
to your Parish”. Would you consider making a donation of
$50 or more to your Church at Christmas? If you are a registered parishioner, please use the designated envelope enclosed in your packet. There are also envelopes in the
Church for the use of any family that may not be registered.

words Pope Francis begins the bull of Induction of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy. The Holy Year will begin on
the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, December
8th, 2015, and close on the Solemnity of Christ the King,
November 20th, 2016. Pope F rancis is calling the church
to the essentials of the faith. His message can be summed up
in three words: mercy, tenderness, "I am a sinner." the papal
documents says, "Mercy: the fundamental law that dwells in
the heart of every person who looks sincerely into the eyes
of his brothers and sisters on the path of life. Mercy: the
bridge that connects God and man, opening our hearts to a
hope of being loved forever despite our sinfulness" (n. 2).
We will have ample occasion to reflect on the many facets
of God’s mercy during the Jubilee Year, but I was particularly drawn to what the Pope says about the relationship between justice and mercy: "It would not be out of place at
this point to recall the relationship between justice and mercy. These are not two contradictory realities, but dimensions
of a single reality that unfolds progressively until it culminates in the fullness of love. We need to recall that in the
Sacred Scripture, justice is conceived essentially as the
faithful abandonment of oneself to God's will."
MAINTENACE AND REPAIR
Next weekend, the Second Collection is our Maintenance
& Repair Collection. These funds help with the r epair

The La Nube Committee will be accepting contributions that
will help them to raise funds for their Annual Celebration on
January 1st, 2016. Thank you for your support.
RECONCILIATION MONDAY
On Monday, December 14th, join us during this Y ear of
Mercy. All churches in New York, Brooklyn, Queens and
Long Island will offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Our Church will offer the Sacrament from 7:00pm to
8:30pm. We invite you to come and be reconciled and
renewed with the Lord before the celebration of Christmas.
BABY’S FIRST CHRISTMAS
Is this your child’s First Christmas? We would like you to
join us on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day for a special
blessing on the occasion of your Child’s First Christmas Celebration. You may choose one of the following Masses to ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
Blessed Sacrament Church should share in the profits. For each car,

Christmas Eve:

SEGUNDA COLECTA
Es tiempo de buscar el regalo perfecto para cada miembro
de la familia y amistades. Por favor no se olviden de su
Iglesia. Este fin de semana 12-13, la Segunda Colecta es el

EL AÑO DE LA MISERICORDIA
“Jesucristo es el rostro de la misericordia del Padre. "Con estas
palabras, Francisco comienza la bula de convocación del Jubileo
extraordinario de la Misericordia. El Año Santo comenzará en la
Solemnidad de la Inmaculada Concepción 8 de diciembre de
2015, y se cierra en la Solemnidad de Jesucristo Rey el 20 de
Noviembre, del 2016.
El Papa Francisco está llamando a la iglesia a lo esencial de la fe.
Su mensaje puede resumirse en tres palabras: la misericordia, la
ternura, "Yo soy pecador". los documentos papales dicen:
"Misericordia: la ley fundamental que habita en el corazón de
cada persona que mira atentamente a los ojos de sus hermanos y
hermanas en el camino de la vida de la Misericordia:. el puente
que une a Dios y al hombre, abriendo nuestros corazones a una
esperanza de ser amado por siempre a pesar de nuestros pecados
"(n. 2). Tendremos amplias oportunidades para reflexionar sobre
las muchas facetas de Dios: piedad durante el Año Jubilar, pero
yo estaba especialmente atraído por lo que el Papa dice acerca de
la relación entre la justicia y la misericordia: "No estaría fuera de
lugar en este momento recordar la relación entre la justicia y la
misericordia. Estos no son dos realidades contradictorias, pero
las dimensiones de una misma realidad que se desarrolla progresivamente hasta culminar en la plenitud del amor. Tenemos que
recordar que en la Sagrada Escritura, la justicia se concibe esencialmente como los fieles se abandonan así mismos ante la voluntad de Dios ".

LUNES DE RECONCILIACION
El Lunes 14 de Diciembre, Participa en el A ño de la Misericordia. Todas las Iglesias de New York, Brooklyn,
Queens y Long Island ofrecerán el Sacramento de la Reconciliación. Nuestra Parroquia asistirá a sus feligreses de
7:00pm a 8:30pm. Les invitamos para que vengan a reconciliarse y renovarse en el Señor antes de la celebración de Navidad.
SAN VINCENT DE PAUL
Nuestra Parroquia podría beneficiarse por cada auto, camión, o van
que funcione o no. La Sociedad de San Vicente de Paul entregara
$50/ $100 a la parroquia por cada vehículo donado. Tal vez usted
no tenga un vehículo para donar pero conozca a un amigo, vecino
o familiar que desee donar un auto que no usen. Llamen a la Sociedad de San Vicente de Paul al 1-718-491-2525. Gracias por su

CATHOLIC EDUCATION
Would you like your child to begin school in a place where there
is an opportunity for academic excellence and formation in our
Faith? Would you like him or her to grow in morality and leadership skills? Would you welcome nurturing and supportive teachers? Would you like your child to have the opportunity to explore
and develop his or her God-given gifts, rather than spending time
simply preparing for tests? Would you like to know that you are a
welcome and valued participant in your child's school community? Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Academy will hold registration
for Kindergarten beginning December 2nd.
You will need to bring your child's birth and Baptismal certificates, Social Security number, and record of vaccinations. There
is a $25.00 application fee, and a $200.00 registration fee. Financial aid is available. Call the Academy at 718-426-5517, or come
to the office at 35-34 105 Street.

In order to give letters of recommendation, letters attesting to
character, sponsor certificates, and other documents that may
have legal or religious purposes, it is required that persons requesting those documents be registered and be active members of
Blessed Sacrament Parish. We can not give any of these documents to persons not registered in the parish.

CATECHISTS CHRISTMAS PARTY

EDUCACIÓN CATÓLICA

valorado en la comunidad escolar de su hijo? La Academia Católica de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores tendrá inscripciones para
niños de Jardín de Infantes comenzando el 2 de Diciembre.

cuota de $ 25.00 para aplicar, y una cuota de inscripción de $
