Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Bishop Ricken has written the
beautiful pastoral letter “Teach My
People to Pray.” We continue to
provide copies of the pastoral in the
church. As a parish this is our most
important ministry—to be people
of prayer. As we move closer to
the Lenten Season, the Church invites us to slow
down, pause to hear what God is telling us, and
listen with a prayerful heart.
With that in mind, we are offering opportunities
for reflection and sharing beginning with the first
week of Lent. Perhaps you feel a nudge to join a
faith sharing/discussion group. Materials and signup sheets are available in the church. We are offering three options: Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m.,
Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and Thursday mornings after the morning Mass. These sessions are in
English. For those choosing a group in Spanish, the
meeting times are Fridays at 6:00pm.
We begin the Kickoff for the 2015 Bishop’s
Appeal this weekend. We hope for a generous
response to this annual appeal. Bishop Ricken has
reminded us often in recent months about our call to
discipleship as the mission of the Church. The readings for today’s Mass help us understand that call to
discipleship. Job remained faithful despite his many
troubles; St. Paul’s letter to the people of Corinth
reveals his great zeal to spread the Gospel; Jesus
heals Peter’s mother in the Gospel and she goes
about serving others. These are all aspects of being
a faithful disciple.
Our lifelong process of becoming a disciple of
Christ is sustained by prayer including prayer with
the community of faith and prayer in the home. As
mentioned earlier, we are inviting you to special
prayer and faith sharing experiences in our parish
community. Some of the materials are provided
through the departments of the Diocese which are
sustained through the Bishop’s Appeal.
During the next days, you will be receiving a letter
from the Diocese asking you to share in stewardship
by giving a monetary gift to the Appeal. Whatever
you choose to give will assist us in meeting our
goal. We thank you in advance.

Extra! Extra! Read All About It!
Congratula ons to a few familiar names associated with our parish:
Sr. Helen Keyzer has been awarded the
December, 2014 Wisconsin Heroes Award for
her volunteer work at Unity Hospice. First Lady
Tone e Walker presented the award to Sr.
Helen just before Christmas. The Award recognizes those who make Wisconsin a be er place
through their heroic and voluntary efforts. Sr.
Helen has been with Unity Hospice since 1989.
Thank you, Sr. Helen, for your countless hours
si ng with hospice pa ents and offering family
members prayer and peaceful support, especially a er the death of
loved ones.

Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Stewardship Reflection:
“Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a
deserted place, where he prayed...He told them, ‘Let us go
on to the nearby villages that I may preach there also. For
this purpose have I come.’”
Mark 1: 35,38
In today’s Gospel reading we see a perfect example
of stewardship. Jesus gives His time to do all that
God wishes - healing the sick and preaching. Yet,
Jesus also makes time to be alone in prayer. It is
through prayer, spending time with God, that we find
the strength to do what God wishes us to do. Be
sure to find time every day to be with God.

Programa Discípulos de Cristo
Discípulos de Cristo es un programa diocesano de
formación para ministerio dentro de la Iglesia. Es
para hombres y mujeres que desean servir a la Iglesia
de la Diócesis de Green Bay. Consiste en cursos de
6 semanas a lo largo de tres años de septiembre a
marzo. Los cursos cubren temas como Escritura del
Antiguo y Nuevo Testamento, Moralidad, Liturgia,
Sacramentos, Oración y Espiritualidad. Si desea más
información sobre este programa, puede consultar
con la Hna. Patricia en la Oficina Parroquial o con
uno de las varias personas de nuestra parroquia que
se han graduado del programa. (Hna. Patricia puede
ponerse en contacto con uno de ellos.) Es una oportunidad maravillosa para aprender más de nuestra fe
y prepararse para ser más activo en la Parroquia.
LA RECEPCIÓN DE LA SANTA COMUNIÓN
Viene a ser lo más común recibir la Santa Comunión
de pie, ya que estar de pie nos recuerda nuestra condición y dignidad de bautizados: con Cristo hemos
sido levantados de nuestro pecado y hemos resucitado con Él.
Al recibir la comunión, después de una inclinación
de la cabeza, tenemos la opción de recibir la Sagrada
Hostia en la mano o directamente en la boca. La preferencia, especialmente en este tiempo del año cuando hay muchas personas enfermas, es recibir en la
mano.
Cuando recibimos en la mano, la manera correcta
es extender las dos manos, una encima de la otra, de
acuerdo a la imagen de abajo y decir “Amen” que
significa “yo creo”. No es correcto recibir la Sagrada Hostia con dos dedos.
LA VIRGEN PEREGRINA
Si desea llevar a su casa la imagen de la Virgen,
comuníquese con la Sra. Elvia Navarro al
(920) 784-4155. Aun si la ha llevado antes, puede
hacerlo otra vez.

Mensaje de Nuestra Líder Pastoral
Queridos hermanos y hermanas,
El Obispo Ricken ha escrito la
hermosa carta pastoral "Enseñarán a mi
Pueblo a Orar". Continuamos ofreciendo
copias de esta pastoral en la iglesia.
Como parroquia nuestro ministerio más
importante es — ser personas de oración.
A medida que nos acercamos a la
Temporada de Cuaresma, la iglesia nos invita a ir más
lento, a hacer una pausa para escuchar con un corazón
fervoroso lo que Dios nos está diciendo.
Con esto en mente, estamos ofreciendo oportunidades
para reflexionar y compartir experiencias de fe
empezando en la primera semana de Cuaresma. Tal vez
usted sienta un empujoncito para unirse a un grupo. Los
materiales y hojas de inscripción están disponibles en la
iglesia. Ofrecemos tres opciones: lunes por las tardes a
las 6:30 p.m., jueves por las tardes a las 6:30 p.m. y el
jueves por las mañanas después de Misa matutina. Estas
sesiones son en inglés. Para aquellos que optan por un
grupo en español, el horario de reunión son los viernes a
las 6 p.m.
El lanzamiento para la invitación del Obispo o
Bishop’s Appeal del 2015 iniciará este fin de semana.
Esperamos recibir una respuesta generosa a esta
invitación anual. En los últimos meses, el Obispo
Ricken nos ha recordado a menudo sobre nuestro
llamado al discipulado como la misión de la Iglesia. Las
lecturas de la Misa de hoy nos ayudan a entender ese
llamado. Job continuó siendo fiel a pesar de sus muchos
problemas; la carta de San Pablo a la gente de Corinto
revela su gran entusiasmo para propagar el Evangelio;
Jesús sana a la madre de Pedro en el Evangelio y ella
continúa sirviendo a los demás. Todos estos son
aspectos de ser un discípulo fiel.
Nuestro proceso perpetuo de convertirnos en un
discípulo de Cristo es sostenido por la oración,
incluyendo la oración con la comunidad de fe y oración
en el hogar. Como se mencionó anteriormente, los
invitamos a tomar parte en oración especial e
intercambio de experiencias de fe en nuestra comunidad
parroquial. Algunos de los materiales son facilitados por
los departamentos de la Diócesis que son financiados por
el Bishop’s Appeal.
Durante los próximos días, usted recibirá una carta de
la Diócesis pidiéndole que tome parte en este pedido
haciendo un regalo monetario al Appeal. Cual sea la
cantidad que elija dar nos ayudará a alcanzar nuestra
meta. Se los agradecemos de antemano.

REZAR EN UN LUGAR SOLITARIO
En el Evangelio hoy Jesús nos enseña la importancia absoluta de crear tiempo personal, así como
espacio físico y mental para la oración. Esto podría
significar que tenemos que levantarnos más temprano, ser más disciplinados y tener más determinación para ajustar el tiempo de oración dentro de
nuestros días ajetreados.
Esto es especialmente importante cuando tenemos que tomar decisiones. Oración seria en estos
momentos siempre nos llama hacia un "lugar solitario" aparte de los detalles de nuestras vidas difíciles
de ignorar.
Debemos separarnos de nuestros mundos en un
escenario donde podamos estar totalmente a solos
con Dios, donde podemos orar más activamente y
poner toda nuestra atención en Dios. Lugares solitarios no siempre son fáciles de encontrar. Pero una
vez que llegamos, es mucho más fácil encontrar a
Dios.
SESIÓN DE VIRTUS
La Diócesis está ofreciendo una sesión de
Virtus sin costo alguno, el día sábado, 21 de
febrero de 2:00pm—5:30pm en Melania
Hall, Salón 13, de la Diócesis. Este curso tiene como su fin proteger a nuestros niños y
adultos vulnerables. Es requisito para cualquier persona que es empleado o voluntario
en la Iglesia, escuela católica u otras instituciones auspiciadas por la Iglesia.
REFLEXIÓN DURANTE LA CUARESMA
Nuestra Parroquia les ofrece grupos de reflexión
durante las seis semanas de Cuaresma de 6:007:00pm. Si desea ser parte de esta oportunidad,
llene la forma que se encuentra en su boletín hoy y
entrega la forma al Sr. Mariano Navarro o a la
Hna. Patricia.

BISHOP’S APPEAL
Tu donativo lleva el corazón y las manos
de Cristo a nuestros niños, jóvenes, familias y vecinos en el Noreste de Wisconsin. Ayuda a
las parroquias a traer a los ponentes para programas
especiales, a formar catequistas que llevan la Educación Religiosa a nuestra juventud y proporciona
financiamiento para aquellos en el programa de Discípulos de Cristo. Incluso la colecta provee capacitación y formación que ayuda en mantener activos
nuestros ministerios. ¡Gracias!

ORACION PARA LA COMUNION ESPIRITUAL
Creo, Jesús mío, que estás real y verdaderamente en el cielo y en el Santísimo Sacramento
del Altar. Te amo sobre todas las cosas y deseo vivamente recibirte dentro de mi alma, pero no pudiendo hacerlo ahora sacramentalmente, ven al menos espiritualmente a mi corazón.
