Objectives
● At the end of this activity, student will have reviewed and used, both in written and oral form,
the Spanish numbers up to 1000.
Activity summary
Students will review their knowledge of the Spanish numbers using two authentic videos. Then
they will use the numerical information provided in infographics to talk about numbers and data
concerning Social Media Platforms.
Time allocation
40-50 min
Procedure
- Activity 1 - Introduction - Let´s review the numbers
a. Individually, students will listen to the Cuenta hasta 1000 en español
(https://youtu.be/Yidnh5oOEEM) song and will fill out Handout 1. When finished,
they will get together in pairs to compare answers and correct them if necessary.
b. Give each pair a large sheet of paper and markers. Ask them to create a cheat sheet
to easily memorize and remember all the numbers from 100 to 1000. Each group
must explain their cheat sheet to the class, and the most understandable will be
displayed in the classroom for everyone to use. (You can print and use the Handout
2 in tabloid size 11” x 17”)

Activity 2
a. Students should view the video Uso de las Redes Sociales en España
(https://vimeo.com/19173415) and complete Handout 3. Once finished, answers will
be compared with the class.
b. Then, assign a Social Media Infographic to each pair of students. Each pair must
prepare a presentation in Spanish to explain the infographic to the entire class. All
students must speak equally. Possible infographics:

Suggested evaluation method
It is advisable to have a rubric to assess speaking activities in which it should be clear to
students how to move from one level to the next. A rubric indicating how a student is Meeting,
Exceeding or not Meeting Expectations is the most useful. The suggested “Speaking Production
Rubric” can be used. (Handout 4: Rúbrica de habilidades de expresión oral)
