heart, who will feed you with knowledge and

God laid His hand upon them,
And breathed hope into their spirits.

We thank you for your personal commitment to
Jesus Christ and to the Word of God.
Dear Lord, we ask your blessings today on our priests and deacons
who spread the good news of Your love. We are grateful that your
faithful servants obeyed the call to ministry by answering “yes” to
service in our world. Continue to grant them the quality time they
need to study Your Word in the Bible as they seek to remind us of
Your truths and teachings. Encourage them during the hours they
spend counseling the hurting, visiting the sick, guiding the Church and
praying for the needs of many. Give them the gift of discernment to
challenge the unhealthy values of our culture and the gift of courage
to speak the healing words You give them. Amen
Saint Teresa of Ávila, also called Saint Teresa of
Jesus. Born March 28, 1515, Ávila, Spain,
died October 4, 1582; canonized 1622; feast day
October 15. One of the great mystics and religious
women of the Roman Catholic church, and author of
spiritual classics. She was the originator of
the Carmelite Reform, which restored and emphasized the austerity and contemplative character of
primitive Carmelite life. St. Teresa was elevated to doctor of the
church in 1970 by Pope Paul VI, the first woman to be so honoured.

The Knights of Columbus to Sponsor
Youth Soccer Challenge
All boys and girls ages 9-14 are invited to participate in the local
level of competition for the 2016 Knights of Columbus Soccer
Challenge. The local competition will be held at Woodbury Field
(next to Virgin Valley Elementary School) from 9:00 – 1:00 on
Saturday October 22nd. All boys and girls 9-14 years old are eligible to participate and will compete in their respective age divisions.
All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation
in the event. Participants are required to furnish proof of age and
written parental consent. Registration will be held at Woodbury Field
on the day of the event. For additional information contact Miguel

to compete at the district and state levels.

Wednesday, October 12th:
Members and new members mark your
calendar for the Guild's first annual
“Welcome Back Snowbirds” potluck, Rosary, and first
meeting of the year. Potluck will begin at 4 PM (set-up at
3:30 PM) followed by Rosary at 5:30 PM, followed by
our meeting at 6 PM. All will take place in the church
Gathering Hall. Food sign-up sheets are posted on
our Guild web page.

advance. A $100 deposit is required at the time of registration.
Quinceañeras in Spanish are held on the last Saturday of the month at
12Noon. Quinceañeras in English are on Saturdays at Noon. The
young woman and her parents are required to meet with the Priest or
Deacon one month prior to the celebration.
FUNERAL MASS: Contact Parish Office for a date and time if not
already arranged through the mortuary. You will then be contacted by
our Funeral Mass Coordinator to arrange music and readings.
MINISTRY TO THE SICK/HOMEBOUND: To arrange
Communion to the sick or homebound or to receive the Sacrament of
the Anointing of the Sick for someone on Hospice, seriously ill, the
elderly or anyone scheduled for surgery call the Parish Office.
SACRAMENT SPONSORSHIP For letter of permission to
sponsor someone for a Sacrament contact the Parish Office.

Responsabilidades del Pastor
El pastor tiene sobre sus hombros la
responsabilidad de mover a la iglesia a alcanzar los propósitos de Dios. Al observar
con detenimiento la enseñanza del Nuevo
Testamento, encontramos que los propósitos de Dios para Su iglesia son dados y
funcionan en forma de un proceso. Dichos propósitos son:
evangelizar a toda persona; integrarla a la comunión y membresía de la iglesia; discipularla para que crezca en su vida cristiana; y entrenarla para el servicio a otros, o sea, llevar a la
iglesia a la madurez cristiana.
El pastor de la iglesia local tiene un papel fundamental en la
ejecución del plan de Dios de esparcir su gloria a todas las
naciones. Si el pastor tiene visión, conocimiento y herramientas
adecuadas, la iglesia se movilizará y como resultado tendremos
más obreros, más oración y más sostenimiento financiero para
llevar adelante la obra de Dios. Porque Dios da la visión, la
convicción y la provisión.
En todo ese proceso lo que se persigue es honrar a Dios. De
manera que el pastor tiene la responsabilidad de colocar la
visión en cada creyente de su congregación y motivarlo a
avanzar en ese proceso que inicia con aceptar el mensaje del
evangelio y llegar a convertirse en un misionero de la gracia de
Dios. En otras palabras, ¡Esa es la visión que cada pastor debe

Les damos las gracias por su dedicación personal a
Jesucristo y a la Palabra de Dios.
Oh Dios, que distribuyes tus dones
para la edificación de tu Iglesia y la salvación del mundo,
derrama tu Espíritu de unidad, de amor y de fortaleza
sobre todos los que escogieron responder a tu llamada.
Que sean fieles a esta vocación y que la realicen plenamente,
para ser en el mundo signos vivos del hombre nuevo,
libres del dinero, del poder y del placer.
Guía sus pasos con tu mano
y susténtalos con la fuerza de tu gracia,
para que no se desanimen
bajo el peso de las fatigas apostólicas.

Santa Teresa de Ávila, también llamada Santa
Teresa de Jesús. Nació el 28 de marzo, 1515, en
Ávila, España y murió el 4 de octubre, 1582; fue
canonizada en 1622; su fiesta se celebra el 15 de
octubre. Es una de las grandes místicas y religiosas
de la Iglesia Católica Romana y autora de escritos
espirituales clásicos. Ella originó la Reforma
Carmelita, que restauró y enfatizó la austeridad y carácter contemplativo de la vida Carmelita primitiva. El Papa Pablo VI la nombró doctora de la iglesia en 1970, la primera mujer que recibe ese honor.

Los Caballeros de Colón patrocinan una
Competencia de Balompié (Soccer) Juvenil
Se invita a todos los niños y niñas de 9 a 14
años a participar en el nivel local de la competencia para la Competencia de Balompié
(Soccer) Juvenil 2016 de los Caballeros de
Colón. . La competencia local se tendrá en el
Campo Woodbury (al lado de la Primaria Virgin
Valley ) el sábado 22 de octubre, de 9:00am a 1:00pm. Todos los
niños y niñas de 9 a 14 años pueden participar y competirán en sus
respectivas divisiones de edad. Se reconocerán todos los competidores a nivel local por su participación en el evento. Se requiere que
los participantes presenten prueba de su edad y el permiso de sus
padres por escrito. La inscripción se tendrá en el Campo Woodbury

Miembros y miembros nuevos, marquen sus
calendarios para la primera reunión anual
del Gremio como “Bienvenida a Residentes
Estacionales” con un convivio, Rosario y la primera reunión del año. El convivio comenzará a las 4 PM (arreglo
del salón a las 3:30 PM) seguido por el Rosario a las 5:30
PM, seguido por nuestra reunión a las 6 PM. Todo será
en el Salón Social de la iglesia. La lista de firma para

Las clases de doctrina (CCD) comienzan esta semana. Por
favor recuerde a nuestros estudiantes y a nuestros maestros
en sus oraciones. Si nosotros no enseñamos a nuestros niños
a seguir a Cristo, el mundo les enseñará a que no lo sigan.
No es nada fácil ser un atleta. El verdadero atleta se somete
a una vida muy rígida con el fin de conseguir su propósito.
Y no es fácil ser cristiano. La rectitud y perseverancia que se
requieren para complacer a Dios hasta el último de nuestros
días tampoco abundan, y las tenemos únicamente por la gracia de Dios.
El Apóstol San Pablo compara la vida cristiana con una
carrera, pero con un premio mucho mejor al final.
