Daily Mass Sacristan Ministry:
Daily Mass takes place in the Sacred Heart Chapel
at 5:45pm Monday-Friday and 8:00am Marian
Mass Saturday mornings. He came to serve not
to be served. If you have interest in volunteering
one day out of the week to this ministry please

be 18 years old with all initiation sacraments and
if married must be through the Catholic Church.

(Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)
If you missed the registration for RCIA classes for adults on August 4, you may come by the Church
office during the week from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm to complete your registration. If possible bring
your Birth certificate and Baptismal certificate with you. A fee of $40 for the books that are used
may be paid now or during the year.

The registration fee is $45.00 for one child and
$75.00 for 2 or more children of one family.
If you are in need of financial assistance this year, half of the
fee is required at the time of registration and the rest must be
paid by Dec. 30, 2013
If you will be registering your children for a Sacramental Class
this upcoming year NOW is the time to get those baptismals ready.
If you are registering your teenager for 2nd year Confirmation
you will also need their 1st Communion certificate or a copy
of the baptismal with notations on the back side. If your child
was baptized here at San Jose you may request a copy from our
main church office for just $5.00. If your child was baptized
at another parish or in another country you need to contact the
parish in which they were baptized for a copy. Copies may be
faxed to 512-443-1212 at the attention to Religious Education
before registration day. We will not be registering anyone for
a Sacramental Class without a copy of his or her baptismal.

Jamaica Games Coordinator is accepting volunteers to run a game booth or set up a
new game. We have plenty of space available to set up new games. This year’s theme is
Diamonds. You may decorate your booth depicting diamonds. You may provide your own

Taller de Oración y Vida
Invitamos a la comunidad de San Jose a participar en el Taller de Oración y vida.
¿Qué son los talleres de oración y vida?
Son un servicio eclesial que el Padre Ignacio Larrañaga inicio en 1984. El taller consista de
quince sesiones. Cada una dura dos horas y la sesión es semanal.
El taller es dirigido por un guía cuya misión consiste en poner en práctica el espíritu y los contenidos del manual. El taller es:
a) Una escuela de oración (se aprende y profundiza en el arte de orar)
b) Es una escuela de vida (el asistente va incrementando su fe en el día a día)
c) Es una escuela apostólica (ya que es un vivero de vocaciones Apostólicas).
En conclusión, los T.O.V. son un eficaz programa de la nueva Evangelización.

Los Siete Pilares de la Espiritualidad Católica del Libro por Matthew Kelly Redescubre el Catolicismo
Los siete pilares de la espiritualidad católica que discutiremos en esta
sección combinan en un conjunto de ejercicios espirituales, dos mil
años de sabiduría espiritual. Pueden ser prácticas antiguas, pero no te
confundas creyendo que no son relevantes en la vida del mundo de hoy.

gente puede identificar un libro que ha significado un cambio en su vida.
Fue probablemente un libro el que te dio aquel mensaje adecuado en el
momento adecuado. Pudieron haber sido solo palabras impresas en un
papel, pero se hicieron vivas para ti y en ti y gracias a ellas nunca volverás
a ser el mismo. Los libros realmente cambian nuestra vida, porque aquello
que leemos hoy camina y habla con nosotros mañana.
La lectura es para la mente, lo que el ejercicio es para el cuerpo y lo que
la oración es para el alma.
•¿Qué Debemos Leer?•
Las Sagradas Escrituras, especialmente el Nuevo Testamento y en particular los cuatro Evangelios, obviamente deben estar en primer lugar de
nuestra lista de lecturas espirituales. En mi experiencia, todo hombre de
bien encontrara deleite en los Evangelios, al irse familiarizando con ellos,
pues son el mejor instructor de la vida y enseñanzas de Jesucristo. Nada
enciende más el alma para imitar al Divino Maestro, que una familiaridad
íntima con la historia de su vida, obra y enseñanzas.
Más allá de las escrituras, hay también excelentes escritores espirituales
que pueden ser de ayuda en nuestra aventura de salvación. Estos maestros
y guías de la vida espiritual siempre están disponibles para consultas.
Si quieres crecer en la fe, identifica aquella enseñanza de la Iglesia
Católica que encuentres más difícil de entender y aceptar y lee al respecto.
Estudia esta tema. Consigue un catecismo y lee lo que ahí se escribe. Busca
las fuentes y encuentra otros libros que expliquen porque la Iglesia enseña
lo que enseña respecto a ese tema y llega al centro del asunto. No leas
libros de autores rencorosos que buscan destruir la Iglesia. Lee libros de
hombres de oración que a través de sus escritos, busquen revelar la verdad
y profundidad de las enseñanzas de la Iglesia. Si abordas ese asunto con
humildad, se revelara ante tus ojos la sabiduría y belleza del catolicismo.
