Uno en Cristo
Estimados Hermanos y Amigos de San Juan Bautista,
Mientras celebramos con nuestros hermanos y
hermanas Peruanos y todo el que tiene una devoción
especial a El Señor de los Milagros, los obispos que
participan en la Asamblea General Extraordinaria del
Sínodo de los Obispos sobre temas relacionados con la
familia y la evangelización han concluido su histórica
asamblea internacional. Estos dos aspectos de nuestra
vida Católica—la profunda devoción e intervención de
Dios en nuestras vidas y la vida familiar como el
contexto fundamental para el crecimiento en la fe acentúan la naturaleza de Católicos seguidores de
Jesús.
La devoción a El Señor de los Milagros con la
imagen sagrada, la celebración de la Santa Misa, la
procesión solemne en la calle y la fiesta entusiástica
que le siguen, demuestran que el amor por Dios no es
simplemente intelectual o emocional. Es una de tantas
maneras en las que le expresamos nuestro amor con
todo nuestro corazón, nuestra alma, y nuestra mente. Aquí
en San Juan Bautista, una de las maneras que manifestamos
nuestro Catolicismo, está en las 15 diferentes culturas
étnicas que componen nuestra familia de la parroquia. Estas
devociones especiales son: - Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe,
Nuestra Señora de la Divina Providencia, EL Divino Niño,
el Vía Crucis, Nuestra Señora de Altagracia, etc, celebran
esta riqueza y profesan nuestro amor por Dios.
Esta unidad que compartimos en la riqueza de nuestra
diversidad étnica no viene de nosotros, sino del Señor Jesús
que fundó su iglesia en los Apóstoles y sopló sobre su
Iglesia el Espíritu Santo. En este Espíritu Santo, estamos
unidos e identificados como Católicos en:
 Nuestra Fe común - el Credo
 Nuestra Oración común - la Misa y Sacramentos
 Nuestra Vida Moral común - la manera que vivimos
nuestro amor por Dios y nuestro prójimo.
 Nuestra Comunidad común - la estructura visible de
la Iglesia Universal Católica
Estos cuatro aspectos de nuestro Catolicismo se
arraigan en la Revelación de Dios, la Sagrada Escritura, y
provee el marco perfecto del cual la Iglesia puede presentar
el Evangelio salvífico de Jesús en estos tiempos cambiantes
y desafiantes. Esto es lo que el Sínodo de los Obispos ha
estado haciendo durante las ultimas dos semanas con el
Papa Francisco. Concluimos esta semana con la doble
celebración de Todos los Santos y de Todos los Fieles
Difuntos, dando importancia una vez más a nuestra unidad
con el Espíritu Santo y expresado en nuestro Catolicismo.
El Señor Jesús no sólo nos ha dado los dos
mandamientos de “Amar al Señor tu Dios con todo tu
corazón, con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente y al prójimo
como a ti mismo,” sino también nos ha dado la manera de
cumplir su mandamiento viviendo nuestras vidas Católicas
en plenitud.

One in Christ
Dear People and Friends of San Juan Bautista,
As we celebrate with our Peruvian
brothers and sisters and all those who have
a special devotion to El Señor de los
Milagros, the bishops participating in the
Extraordinary General Assembly of the
Synod of Bishops on topics related to the
family and evangelization have concluded
their historic, international assembly.
These two aspects of our Catholic life—
deep devotion to God’s involvement in
our lives and family life as the
fundamental context for growth in faith —
emphasize the nature of Catholic followers
of Jesus.
The devotion to El Señor de los
Milagros with the sacred image, the
celebration of the Holy Mass, the solemn
procession in the street and the
enthusiastic fiesta that follows demonstrate a love for God
that is not simply intellectual or emotional. It is one of
many ways that we express our love for God with all our
heart, all our soul, and all our mind. Here at San Juan
Bautista, one of the ways that we manifest our Catholicity is
in the 15 different ethnic cultures that compose our parish
family. These special devotions—Our Lady of Guadalupe,
Nuestra Señora de Providencia Divina, el Niño Divino, la
Vía Crucis, Nuestra Señora de Altagracia, etc, celebrate this
richness and profess our love for God.
This unity that we share in the richness of our ethnic
diversity does not come from us, but from the Lord Jesus
who founded his Church on the Apostles and breathed into
his Church the Holy Spirit. In this Holy Spirit, we are
united and identified as Catholics in:
 Our common Faith – the Creed
 Our common Prayer—the Mass and Sacraments
 Our common Moral Life –the way we live out our love
for God and our neighbor
 Our common Community –the visible structure of the
Universal Catholic Church
These four aspects of our Catholicity are rooted in
God’s Revelation, Sacred Scripture, and provide the firm
framework out of which the Church is able to present the
saving Gospel of Jesus in ever-changing and challenging
times. This is what the Synod of Bishops has been doing for
the past two weeks with Pope Francis. We conclude this
week with the double celebration of All Saints and All
Souls, again emphasizing our unity through the Holy Spirit
and expressed in our Catholicity.
The Lord Jesus has not only given us the two fold
command to “Love the Lord your God all your heart, all
your soul, and all your mind and your neighbor as
yourself,” but has also given us the way to fulfill his
command by living our Catholic lives fully.

6:00 PM. Bilingual Mass. If a member of your

40 HOURS EUCHARISTIC DEVOTIONS
Fr. Wolfe will be celebrating and preaching the
Forty Hour Devotions @ St. Joseph Church
beginning this Sunday @ 4:00 PM, Monday and
Tuesday @ 7:00 PM.
For this reason our Mass here on Tuesday has been
changed to 7:00 AM., there will be no evening Mass.
Everyone is invited to the attend the Liturgies at our sister
parish of St. Joseph.
DEVOCION DE LAS 40 HORAS — Iglesia San José
Comenzando este Domingo el Padre Wolfe estará
celebrando y predicando la Devoción de la Cuarenta Horas en la
Iglesia San José. El Servicio será: Domingo 4:00 PM., Lunes y
Martes a las 7:00 PM. Por esta razón la Misa aquí este Martes
será a las 7:00 AM. NO habrá Misa aquí por la tarde. Todos
están invitados a participar de estos servicios Litúrgicos en la
VELA CERCA AL SANTÍSIMO
Esta vela nos recuerda de la Presencia Sacramental de
Jesucristo en el Santísimo. Usted puede ofrecer esta vela

Programa Post-Escolar
Plaza San Juan Bautista
Hace un mes que comenzó nuestro Programa Post-Escolar 2014-2015 y tenemos 65 niños(as), de
diferentes escuelas, que asisten cada día, de lunes a jueves a la Plaza “San Juan Bautista” para participar.
En nuestro Programa Post-Escolar, los niños encuentran un lugar donde se sienten seguros y
cuidados; un lugar donde encuentran ayuda para hacer sus tareas y donde se les anima a creer en sí
mismos y en todas la capacidades que tienen para triunfar en la vida; ellos también tienen la posibilidad de
crear lazos afectivos con una comunidad que los acoge.

Plaza San Juan Bautista — After-School Program
It has been a month since we began our After-School Program 2014-2015 and 65 children, from
different schools, meet every day from Monday through Thursday at Plaza “San Juan Bautista” to
participate.
In our After School Program, children find a place where they feel safe and cared for; a place to find
help with their homework and where they are encouraged to believe in themselves and foster all the skills
to help them succeed in life; they also have the possibility to create bonds with a community that embraces
them.

Baptismal Preparation – 2 Sessions required
Before an infant or a child under 7 years of age can be
baptized, the parents must attend the Parents’ Class for
Baptism, which is held the 2 nd Saturday of each month @
9:00AM. Then, and only then, the parents with the godparents
attend Baptism Preparation Session II on the 4 th Sat. of the
month @ 9:00AM. Parents must register at the parish office.
November 8th is the next date for Session I.

PREPARACIÓN BAUTISMAL 2 Sesiones Requeridas
Antes de que un bebé o un niño menor de 7
años pueda ser bautizado, los padres deben asistir
a la Sesión-I para Padres, que se lleva a cabo el 2do
Sábado de cada mes a las 9:00 AM. Luego, y solo
después de haber asistido a la primera clase, podrán asistir
junto con los padrinos a la Sesión II para Padres y Padrinos.
Los padres que estén esperando bebes pueden tomar la clase
antes de que nazca el bebé. Se requiere registración por
adelantado, pase por la oficina parroquial. La próxima clase
para padres es el 8 de Noviembre.
