Lord Jesus Christ,
you have taught us to be merciful like
the heavenly Father, and have told us
that whoever sees you sees Him.
Show us your face and we will be
saved. Your loving gaze freed
Zacchaeus and Matthew from being
enslaved by money; the adulteress
and Magdalene from seeking
happiness only in created things;
made Peter weep after his betrayal,
and assured Paradise to the
repentant thief. Let us hear, as if
addressed to each one of us, the
words that you spoke to the
Samaritan woman: “If you knew the
gift of God!” You are the visible face
of the invisible Father, of the God
who manifests his power above all by
forgiveness and mercy: let the Church
be your visible face in the world, its
Lord risen and glorified. You willed
that your ministers would also be
clothed in weakness in order that
they may feel compassion for those in
ignorance and error: let everyone

Papa Francisco
Señor Jesucristo,
tú nos has enseñado a ser
misericordiosos como el Padre del
cielo, y nos has dicho que quien te ve,
lo ve también a Él. Muéstranos tu
rostro y obtendremos la salvación. Tu
mirada llena de amor liberó a Zaqueo y
a Mateo de la esclavitud del dinero; a
la adúltera y a la Magdalena de buscar
la felicidad solamente en una creatura;
hizo llorar a Pedro luego de la traición,
y aseguró el Paraíso al ladrón
arrepentido. Haz que cada uno de
nosotros escuche como propia la
palabra que dijiste a la samaritana: ¡Si
conocieras el don de Dios! Tú eres el
rostro visible del Padre invisible, del
Dios que manifiesta su omnipotencia
sobre todo con el perdón y la
misericordia: haz que, en el mundo, la

We ask this through the intercession of
Mary, Mother of Mercy, you who live
and reign with the Father and the Holy

every Monday from 7:00 to 7:30 at the
Church. We encourage all
parishioners to attend.

Collection for the Needs of the Church in
Canada: Why is there such a collection?
Every year, the Bishops of Canada make
an appeal for financial assistance to support
their work and the work of each diocese by
means of the Collection for the Needs of the
Church in Canada. The President of the
Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops
(CCCB), the Most Reverend Paul-André
Durocher, Archbishop of Gatineau, has
described this Collection as “an opportunity
to all the faithful to help their dioceses
collaborate in financing the regional
episcopal assemblies (the Atlantic, Quebec,
Ontario, and the West) and also the
Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops
(CCCB). These associations support the
Bishops in their local ministry and in
working together on issues of common
concern.” Any additional revenues raised
help the diocese support its own diocesan
pastoral programs and other activities. The
CCCB is the national assembly of the
Catholic Bishops in Canada, and includes
the Bishops of the Eastern Catholic
Churches.
Colecta para las necesidades de la Iglesia
en Canadá: ¿Por qué esta Colecta? Cada
año, los obispos de Canadá hace un llamado
a la asistencia financiera para apoyar su
trabajo y el trabajo de cada diócesis a través
de la colecta de las necesidades de la Iglesia
en Canadá. El Presidente de la Conferencia
Episcopal Católica de Canadá (CCCB), el
Reverendo Paul-André Durocher, Arzobispo

Day of Spirituality - October 3: St. John’s CWL is hosting a Day of
Spirituality on Saturday, October 3rd. Our pastor, Fr. Francisco Cruz will
be the speaker. The theme for the day will be: “One Hope, One Voice,
One Mission.” The day will start at 8:30 AM, with coffee & muffins. The
speaker will begin at 9 AM. At 11 AM, we will have a Mass, followed by
a hot lunch. This day is open to everyone. The cost for the day is $10,
which includes the hot lunch. St. John’s CWL members do not pay.

“40 Days For Life” campaign runs
from Wednesday, September 23rd
through to Sunday, November 1st,
in front of Freeport Hospital.
Monthly prayer vigils resume

Development and Peace Fall Education
Workshop will be held this coming
Thursday September 24th at 7:00 p.m. here
at St. John’s. The theme for this year is
“Create A Climate Of Change”. Climate
change is dramatically altering the planet
as we know it. The poorest people
contribute the least to climate change, yet
are hit hardest by it’s impacts. Canadians
have one of the highest carbon footprints
in the world, so we have a responsibility to
change course. Development and Peace
believes that by working together, we can
tackle the injustice of climate change. Join
us to learn more about what Development
and Peace is doing and what we can do.
All are welcome.
"La Campaña 40 Días por la VIDA"
se llevará a cabo desde el
miércoles 23 de septiembre hasta
el domingo, 1 de noviembre frente
a Freeport hospital. Vigilias de
oración mensuales se reanudarán
el Jueves, 5 de noviembre.
Taller de Otoño de Desarrollo y Paz: se
llevará a cabo el próximo Jueves 24 de
septiembre a las 7:00 pm aquí en el salon
parroquial. El tema de este año es "Crear un
Clima de Cambio". El cambio climático está
alterando dramáticamente el planeta tal como
la sabemos. Las personas más pobres son
los que menos contribuyen al cambio
climático, sin embargo, son las más
afectadas. Los canadienses tienen una de las
huellas de carbono más altos del mundo, así
que tenemos la responsabilidad de cambiar
de rumbo. Desarrollo y Paz confia que
trabajando juntos, podemos hacer frente a la
injusticia del cambio climático. Únase a
nosotros para aprender más acerca de lo que
Desarrollo y la Paz está haciendo y lo que
