CRAFTS
OF THE

HOLY LAND
We have the honor to receive a visit from a
group that distributes crafts from the Holy
Land in our area. They are here this weekend. We invite you to buy some of their
beautiful products for the benefit of Christians in the Holy Land.

There is a list found in the bulletin
with registered active parishioners. To maintain your registration
active please use an offertory enveloped, found in the rectory, during collection. Having an active
registration is the only way we will write recommendation as well as provide help and receive our
parish mailings. If you have not registered, please
stop by the rectory.
FOOD SALE MARCH 18TH
The Spanish Charismatic Group will be selling food
next Sunday, March 18th as a fundraiser for Deacon
Jevi Hercules, who will be ordained a priest, God
willing, at the end of May.
ST. PATRICK’S DAY BREAKFAST
Next Saturday, March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day (Archbishop and Patron of
Ireland) will be celebrated. After the
8AM Mass we will be having an Irish
Breakfast. Anyone interested in bringing something, please contact Fr. Luis.
EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT
Our church thanks Tony Hayeck for
completing his project to earn the
rank of Eagle Scout. His project was
renovating one of the rooms in the
basement of our school building to
be used as a babysitting room. The
renovation was carried out by raising funds for the project and seeking
help from friends and fellow scouts under supervision. The room was blessed on January 20th. Congratulations!

FOR
EASTER DECORATIONS
Today’s second collection will be for our church
decorations for Holy Week and Easter. We invite
everyone to be generous so that the joy of the resurrection will be reflected in our church.
HONEY BAKED HAM - MARCH 25
Support our youth to World Youth
Day 2013 and enjoy some delicious
food! Honey Baked Hams will be at
Masses on March 25th and April 1st
to sell $25 gift cards. For every $25
sold, St. Mary's youth will receive 50%! It's that
easy!! Enjoy delicious ham, turkey breast, side dishes and desserts for Easter and give to our youth at

RENOVATION
OF
SCHOOL BASEMENT
The work of renovating the basement of our school building has re
-started. With this renovation, we
will have a chapel for daily Masses, new public bathrooms with
handicapped access, a wheel chair
lift and several renovated rooms for the use of the
parish. The Chapel will be dedicated to Blessed Teresa of Calcutta who graced our parish with her
presence so many times. We need the collaboration
of all who can help by volunteering a Saturday
morning of work when it is possible, especially if
the person knows about construction trades. For

zona y así ayudar a la minoría Cristiana. Vendrán a nuestra iglesia durante
el 10 y 11 de marzo. Les animamos a

Encuentran hoy una lista de los parroquianos registrados activos en nuestra parroquia. Para mantener su insripción activa necesita usar su sobre de
colecta. Puede inscribirse en la rectoría.
Con la inscripción activa es la única forma de darles
cartas de recomendación y ayuda de nuestra parroquia, así como recibir las cartas de la iglesia.

COMIDA - 18 MARZO
El Grupo Carismático de la Nueva Unción estará
vendiendo comida el próximo domingo, dia 18 de
marzo para recaudar fondos para el diacono Jevi
Hercules, que vendrá ordenado presbítero, Dios mediante, al final de mayo.

PROJECTO
DE
SCOUT-AGUILA
Nuestra iglesia le da las gracias de
todo corazón a Tony Hayeck por
haber completado su proyecto
para llegar a ser Scout-Aguila. Tony eligió renovar una de las dos
salas del bajo del edificio de la
escuela para que pueda ser usada
para cuidar niños. La renovación
se llevó a cabo a través de conseguir fondos para el proyecto y buscar ayuda entre
amigos scouts bajo la supervision. La sala fue bendecida el pasado 20 de enero. ¡Enhorabuena!

RENOVACIÓN
DEL SÓTANO DE LA ESCUELA
Han recomenzado las renovaciones del sótano de nuestra escuela.
Con esta renovación vamos a tener
una capilla para las misas de diario, baños públicos con acceso para
inválidos, un ascensor para silla de
ruedas y cuartos renovados para uso de la parroquia. La capilla va hacer dedicada a Beata Teresa de
Calcuta quien a honrado nuestra parroquia con su
presencia muchas veces. Necesitamos la colaboración de todos quien pueda ayudar los sábados por

The tasks of a sponsor for infant
baptism is both to assist parents
presents the infant for baptism
and help the child to lead a
Christian life after baptism (Can.
#872). For the grace of Baptism
to unfold, the parents' help is important. So too is the role of the sponsors, who must
be firm believers, able and ready to help the newly
baptized-child or adult on the road of Christian life.
Their task is a truly ecclesial function (Cat. #1255).
There can only be one godmother or one godfather,
or one of each. For someone to be eligible, the Code
of Canon Law #874 establishes that it is necessary
that: 1) be designated by the one to be baptized, by
the parents or the person who takes their place, or
in their absence by the pastor or minister and have
the aptitude and intention of fulfilling this function;
2) have completed the 16th year of age, unless the
pastor or minister has granted an exception for a

La función de los padrinos es,
juntamente con los padres, presentar al niño que va a recibir el
bautismo y procurar que después
lleve una vida cristiana congruente con el bautismo y cumpla fielmente las obligaciones
inherentes al mismo (Derecho Canónico #872). La
iglesia los encarga con este mandato haciendo una
función eclesial, para lo que deben ser creyentes sólidos (Catecismo #1255). Se puede tener un solo padrino o una sola madrina, o uno y una. Para que alguien sea admitido como padrino, el Código de Derecho Canónico #874 establece que es necesario que:
1) haya sido elegido por quien va a bautizarse o por
sus padres o por quienes ocupan su lugar o, faltando éstos, por el párroco o ministro; y que tenga capacidad para esta misión e intención de desempeñarla; 2) haya cumplido dieciséis años, a no ser que
el Obispo diocesano establezca otra edad, o que, por
justa causa, el párroco o el ministro consideren admisible una excepción; 3) sea católico, esté

and has already received the sacrament of the Eucharist and who leads a life of faith in keeping with

as a witness of the baptism (Can. #874; 2). This excludes from being sponsors those who do not regularly attend church (in our parish, at least registered
and active for three months) and those cohabiting
but not married at the Catholic Church.

Apostles’ Creed during Mass, since it is the baptismal creed that links us to the renewal of our baptismal promises. Please use the missalette.

los Apóstoles en la Misa porque es el credo bautismal que nos conecta con la renovación de nuestras
promesas bautismales. Por favor recen usando el
