Confirmation
This day we welcome Auxiliary Bishop Luis
R. Zarama who will confer the Sacrament of
Confirmation on 30 St. Clement’s teenagers.
Our candidates have been preparing for two
years for this special moment and we
congratulate them on their dedication and
reaching this day. From ancient times, the last
anointing of baptism quickly became its own
sacrament. In the West, it was reserved to the bishops (today
they occasionally delegate the sacrament for special circumstances). “In the first centuries Confirmation generally comprised one single celebration with Baptism, forming with it a
‘double sacrament,’ according to the expression of St. Cyprian.
Among other reasons, the multiplication of infant baptisms all
through the year, the increase of rural parishes, and the growth
of dioceses often prevented the bishop from being present at all
baptismal celebrations. In the West the desire to reserve the
completion of Baptism to the bishop caused the temporal separation of the two sacraments. The East has kept them united, so
that Confirmation is conferred by the priest who baptizes. But
he can do so only with the ‘myron’ consecrated by a bishop.”
“When Confirmation is celebrated separately from Baptism, its connection with Baptism is expressed,
among other ways, by the renewal of baptismal promises. The
celebration of Confirmation during the Eucharist helps underline the unity of the sacraments of Christian initiation.”
“Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament
which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in
the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ,
strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely
with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith
in words accompanied by deeds.” “Recall then that you have
received the spiritual seal, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of right judgment and courage, the spirit of

Para los estudiantes de primera comunión:
Los vestidos de las niñas - vestidos de comunión
blancos y zapatos blancos.
Los trajes para los niños - todo de color blanco; o
pantalones negros y camisa blanca / corbata
blanca o negra. Se recomienda chaqueta del
traje, pero no es obligatorio. Zapatos de vestir.
Prácticas: Para la misa de las 11 am asignada para
el 07 de mayo se establece para 5/4/16 a las
5:00 pm
Para la misa de las 2 pm asignada para el
07 de mayo se establece para 5/4/16 a las 6:30
pm
Para la misa asignada para el 21 de mayo
se establece para 5/4/16 a las 11:00 am
Todos los niños de primera Comunión por favor
de presentarse en la iglesia, en el Salón en el
panó abajo una hora antes que empieza la
