MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church exists to proclaim the Good News, pass on the faith, truth and
traditions of the Catholic Church as received from the apostles from generation to
generation by professing the faith, living it in practice and in service to others and by
celebrating it in liturgy and in prayer. (CCC 3)
The parish of St. John the Evangelist is committed to serving the spiritual needs of its
community by celebrating the Sacraments and providing faith formation to help build
“households of faith”. Centered on the Eucharist, we hope to be a family that
supports, offers forgiveness, mercy, and healing and models the call to service
through the Sacraments.
The St. John Religious Education Program continues the mission of the Catholic
Church. It supports the rights and responsibilities of parents by assisting and
equipping them and their families in their journey of faith. In our Classes, we welcome
all, we gather to break open the Word and we empower our children and their families
to continue the mission of evangelization, which is taught to us in Sunday Mass. This
is accomplished through our Catechists and their personal witness of the Catholic
faith. Our goal is to ignite in our families the fire of faith which we have received at
Baptism.
DECLARACIÓN DE MISIÓN
La Iglesia Católica existe para proclamar la Buena Nueva, a pasar la fe, la verdad y las
tradiciones de la Iglesia Católica. Este tesoro recibido de los apóstoles ha sido
guardado fielmente por sus sucesores. Todos los fieles de Cristo son llamdos a
transmitirlo de generación en generación, anunciando la fe, viviéndola en la comunión
fraterna y celebrándola en la liturgia y en la oración. (CCC 3)
La parroquia de San Juan Evangelista es comprometida a servir en las necesidades
espirituales de nuestra comunidad en la celebración de los Sacramentos, proveer la
formación de la fe católica para ayudar a construir “la unidad familiar de la fe”.
Centrada en la Eucaristía, esperamos ser una familia que apoya, ofrece el perdón, la
misericordia y la sanación y que muestra el llamado al servicio a través de los
Sacramentos.
El Programa de Educación Religiosa de San Juan continúa la misión de la Iglesia
Católica . Apoya los derechos y las responsabilidades de los padres asistiéndolos y
equipándolos y a sus familias en la peregrinación de fe. Tratamos de ser una
semejanza a la Misa en nuestras clases. Damos la bienvenida a todos, reunimos,
repartimos la Palabra y apoderámos a nuestros niños y sus familias a seguir la misión
de evangelización. Esto es llevado a cabo por nuestras Catequistas y su testigo
personal de la fe Católica. Nuestra meta es encender en nuestras familias el fuego de
fe dentro de uno que fue recibido en el Bautismo.
