CONFIRMATION/RCIAy PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
To enroll in the Confirmation Program or RCIA Program at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, all
students must meet the following requirements.

The child must be entering grade 9th-12th. The 8th Grade Evangelization Year is highly suggested for the
participant to understand the sacrament to be received. If a child is in grade 9th-12th and has not received First Communion,
please contact the DRE to register for the RCIA class for youth.

The child must have completed at least one full school year of Religious Education classes (Pre-Confirmation /
RCIAy1) immediately prior to entering the Confirmation class (Year 2 / RCIAy2). The child may have taken these
classes at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church or another Catholic church. (You must provide a letter of verification from the
other church at the time of registration.)

Parents must turn in a copy of the child’s baptism certificate at the time of registration, even if the child was
baptized here at Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The fee for Confirmation is $50 or family plan. The fee may be paid in installments, but we ask that at least $25 be paid at the
time of registration. Do not hesitate to call the office for more information.

Attend Mass every Sunday and Feast Days (Solemnities) at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Mass attendance has an impact on
receiving sacraments. Only 3 absences for emergencies are permitted. If absences are in excess child will have to repeat year.
To be eligible to celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, a family must
fulfill the following obligations.

ii. Serve in 1 Ministry group or in Mass (Altar
Server/ Choir / Ushers / Proclaim the Word)
III. Retreats (Only Year 2/RCIAy2):
i. Optional: (Godstock / DCYC / ACTS teen)
ii. REQUIRED: OLoG Confirmation Retreat
IV. Service: (required)
Projects / Service Hours (society,
family, church, …) [i.e. Easter Egg Hunt,
Sunday Breakfast, Valentine’s Dance, camp,
school, elderly, hospital, etc…]
i. Pre-Conf Yr1 / RCIAy1 (15 hrs)
ii. Confirm Yr2 / RCIAy2 (20 hrs)
V. Prayer: Opportunities to experience prayer in its
many forms
i. Holy Thursday (washing of the feet(Males) & holy
oils (Females) & bread/wine (Females)
ii. Friday Adoration (4 times will assign dates for
class)
a. if cannot make it on assigned dates, then
do it on another Friday
b. sign in name on sign in sheet
iii. Missions in Lent (@ least 1 – date will be assign
per class)
iv. Stations of the Cross (@ least 1) & Mass
v. Christmas Posada (@ least 1)
VI. Called to Protect for Youth (required for all students
in the program)

REQUISITOS DEL PROGRAMA de CONFIRMACIÓN y RCIAy
Para inscribirse en el Programa de Confirmación o el Programa RCIA de jovenes en Nuestra Señora de
Guadalupe, todos los estudiantes deben cumplir con los siguientes requisitos.

El estudiante debe estar entrando en el grado 9o, 10o, 11o, o 12º. El octavo grado como año de
Evangelización es muy recomendable para que el participante comprenda el sacramento a recibir. Si un
niño está en el grado 9 al 12 y no ha recibido la Primera Comunión, por favor póngase en contacto con la DRE para inscribirse en
la clase de RICA para los jóvenes.

El estudiante debe haber completado al menos un año escolar de clases de Educación Religiosa (i.e. PreConfirmación / RCIAy1) inmediatamente antes de entrar en la clase de confirmación (año 2 / RCIAy2).
El estudiante puede haber tomado estas clases en la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe o de otra
iglesia católica. (Se debe presentar una carta de verificación de la otra iglesia en el momento del registracion.)
 Los padres deben entregar una copia del certificado de bautismo del niño en el momento de la
inscripción, incluso si el niño fue bautizado aquí en Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe.
 La cuota para la Confirmación es de $ 50 o un plan familiar. La cuota se puede dar en pagos, pero le pedimos que
por lo menos $ 25 se pague en el momento de la inscripción. No dude en llamar a la oficina para más información.

Asistir a misa todos los domingos y Días de Fiesta (Solemnidades) en la iglesia de Nuestra Señora de
Guadalupe. La asistencia a misa tiene un impacto en los sacramentos que reciben. Sólo se permiten 3 ausencias por
emergencias. Si las ausencias son superiores el estudiante tendrá que repetir el año.
Para ser elegible en recibir el sacramento de Confirmación en la Iglesia Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, una
familia debe cumplir con las siguientes obligaciones.
