Qué bendición poder celebrarlo en un domingo, cuando muchos de nuestros feligreses asisten a misa y podrían participar. Como usted bien sabe, los santos son nuestros hermanos y hermanas mayores en la fe. Ellos
son los mejores amigos de nuestro Señor
Jesucristo, y reciben de él el poder de venir
a nuestra ayuda, si les pedimos con fe, de
acuerdo con la voluntad de Dios. Ellos velan por nosotros, nos protejen y nos guían
a través de sus oraciones. Recibimos
ayuda celestial de ellos para nuestras
vidas diarias a través de nuestras oraciones.
Santa Margarita María fue inspirada
por Cristo para establecer una Hora Santa
en la víspera del primer viernes de cada
mes, para compartir en la tristeza mortal
que soportó cuando fue abandonado por
sus apóstoles en su agonía, y de recibir la
Santa Comunión en el primer viernes de
cada mes. Jesús dio a conocer su ardiente
deseo de ser amado por todos los seres humanos y su diseño de manifestar su corazón con todos sus tesoros de amor y misericordia, de la santificación y la salvación.
La llamó "el discípulo amado del Sagrado
Corazón". El amor del Corazón era el fuego
que la consumía. En su última enfermedad, murió pronunciando el Santo Nombre
de Jesús. Fue canonizada por Benedicto
XV en 1920. Cuando su tumba fue abierta
en julio de 1830, encontraron su cuerpo
incorrupto y dos curaciones instantáneas
se llevaron a cabo. Por lo tanto, no deje
pasar este día sin hablar con su amiga especial, Santa Margarita María. Estoy seguro de que por la gracia de Dios ella nos
mirará favorablemente.

For Souls Devoted to His Sacred Heart

PERSEVERANCIA EN LA ORACION
Por Humberto Beltrán
Para vencer obstáculos tan poderosos, de dentro y fuera de nosotros mismos, Jesús ofrece el
arma más eficaz, la oración. La recomienda como infalible. Y no se limita a esta recomendación, sino que la erige en centro de su propia
vida. Toda ella está empapada de oración, especialmente en los momentos más trascendentes.
Otro tanto nos muestra la actitud de Moisés y
el pueblo de Israel en el desierto. En el pasaje
que hoy hemos leído y en todo su peregrinar de
años superan todas las dificultades valiéndose
de la ración.
La perseverancia en la vida cristiana es imposible sin la perseverancia en la oración. Se dice
que la oración hace milagros. El primer milagro
que todos experimentamos, a veces sin darnos
cuenta de ello, es nuestra perseverancia.
El evangelio nos inculca la perseverancia en la
oración: San Mateo nos recuerda que todo el
que pide recibe, porque la insistencia en la oración, nacida de la fe en Dios, no deja de producir frutos. San Lucas, consciente del clamor de
los pobres y oprimidos que pide justicia a Dios,
les recuerda que Dios los va a escuchar, porque
Dios no se hace el sordo ante el clamor de los
suyos. Ya en el Antiguo Testamento, en el nacimiento del pueblo de Israel, se nos recordó que
Dios escuchó sus gemidos ante la opresión que
sufrían en Egipto. Los primeros cristianos, a los
que San Lucas se dirigía, se encontraban en
una situación parecida a la del antiguo pueblo
de Israel. Los cristianos que habían sufrido los
primeros ataques del imperio romano, ansiaban la Segunda Venida del Señor que les trajera
la plenitud de la liberación. San Lucas quería
dar a sus lectores esperanzas y fuerzas para
aguantar y perseverar en medio de su situación. Dios parece a veces responder tarde a
nuestras peticiones, pero nunca falla en venir a
socorrernos.
La Insistencia, si Funciona.
De algún modo el evangelio de hoy nos recuerda nuestra experiencia desde niños, cuando
pronto aprendimos que la insistencia al pedir
una cosa a los padres suele acabar produciendo
frutos positivos, aunque a veces puede resultar
en un castigo. El juez de la parábola de hoy podría haber castigado a la mujer por su insistencia inoportuna, podría haberle prohibido acercarse al tribunal, especialmente porque el juez
era injusto. Dios va a obrar mucho mejor que
ese juez, porque él es justo y está de parte de
los oprimidos. Si nosotros hacemos caso a una
persona inoportuna porque corrompe y enfada,
porque insiste mucho, con mucha más razón la
oración perseverante será escuchada por Dios.
Las dos figuras de la parábola, el juez y la viuda, aparecen tradicionalmente en la biblia como dos tipos de personas, una poderosa con un
poder de juzgar casi divino, y la otra como símbolo de la debilidad y del desamparo humano.
Los cristianos debemos ser insistentes, y hasta
agresivos, al pedir a Dios que escuche nuestras
súplicas y apoye nuestros esfuerzos para traer
su justicia al mundo. Pero no olvidemos también nuestra experiencia de que aunque a veces
Dios viene tarde, pero nunca falla.
No toda petición es justa a la luz del evangelio.
Dios responde a quienes piden liberación desde
la fe.
El modelo de creyentes lo representa en este
pasaje evangélico la viuda, necesitada, por una
parte, y creyente, por otra. Jesús alaba la fe de
la viuda con deseos de justicia.
Desgraciadamente, no unimos a menudo fe y
justicia. Si solemos unir fe y sacramentos, fe y
actos de piedad, fe y religión…Es necesario hacer ver que el corazón de la justicia de Dios está
en la fe y que es el núcleo central de la fe es la
justicia.
Reflexión.
El Señor nos anima, pues a fortalecer los lazos
comunitarios: orando juntos, con fervor y alegría, reflexionando sobre la Palabra de Dios y
su proyección a la realidad que vivimos, asumiendo los compromisos necesarios en favor
de un mundo más justo.
Los domingos venimos a la iglesia a orar porque necesitamos hablar con Dios, porque necesitamos que nuestros hermanos nos ayuden a
orar, porque queremos estar unidos a Cristo
cuando levantamos la voz de nuestra súplica.

CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 62
This November, California voters will be asked to
vote on whether end the use of the death penalty.
The Catholic Bishops of California support Proposition 62. All life is sacred– innocent or flawed– just as
Jesus Christ taught us and demonstrated repeatedly throughout His ministry.
PRO-LIFE
“In this context the temptation grows to have recourse to
euthanasia, that is, to take control of death and bring it
before its time, 'gently' ending one’s own life or the life
of others. In reality, what might seem logical and humane, when looked at more closely is seen to be senseless and inhumane. Here we are faced with one of the
more alarming symptoms of the 'culture of death'.”

SMM Parish prays to end death by human hands:
abortion, euthanasia, and capital punishment.
The Bishops of the United Stated have long opposed the use of capital punishment. Proposition
62 provides voters with opportunity to bring an end
to this severely and irrevocably flawed practice,
just as 19 other stated have already done.
We must also oppose Proposition 66 which will expedite execution in California.
As we conclude the Year of Mercy, California has
an opportunity to embrace both justice and mercy
(cf. Ps. 85.11) in their voting. We ask you to prayerfully consider support for Proposition 62 and opposition Proposition 66.

Faith Sharing Meeting

for God’s mercy. The tax collector in the Gospel of Luke,
would not even raise his eyes while he prayed, “O God,
be merciful to me a sinner.” If we’re honest with ourselves, each of us has much in common with the tax
collector.
Recalling an experience when you felt genuine humility,
