The Catholic Church in the United
States will celebrate National
Vocation
Awareness
Week,
November 6-12. This annual event is a
special time to foster a culture of
vocations for the
priesthood,
diaconate and consecrated life. Pope
Francis, in his homily at the final Mass of the 2016
World Youth Day in Krakow, encouraged the youth of
the world to open their hearts to Jesus. "Don't be
afraid to say 'yes' to him with all your heart, to
respond generously and to follow him!" said Pope
Francis. "Don't let your soul grow numb, but aim for
the goal of a beautiful love which also demands
sacrifice." This week I encourage you all to prayer for
vocations.
Tuesday is election day. Pope Francis said to
Americans, “Vote your conscience.” Let us prayer for
our nations as we go to the polls.

As we practice stewardship, we find that we
grow spiritually and that our faith is deepened.
THANKSGIVING DAY MASS - Our Thanksgiving
Day Mass will be held at 10am in the main church.
Please plan on joining us as we thank God for the
blessings he has showered on us, our families and our
country. You are invited to offer food and/or a
monetary donation to IAM at the Offertory to help
those in need. You are also invited to bring some of
your Thanksgiving dinner food to be blessed at the end
of Mass.
A book of Remembrance has been
placed in the gathering area of the

deceased recorded in our parish in the
past year. You may enter additional
names of loved ones who have died this
year to be to be prayed for at each Mass
throughout the month of November.

HURRICANE MATTHEW DISASTER RELIEF:
The Diocese of Charlotte is responding to the
widespread destruction and humanitarian crisis
resulting from Hurricane Matthew by collecting funds
to be used to support disaster recovery efforts. If you
wish to donate, please place your donation in our
regular offertory basket, making checks payable to
Immaculate Conception Church and clearly marking
the envelope for Hurricane Matthew Disaster
Relief. Thank you for your generosity.
Prayer Before An Election
Lord God, as the election approaches, we seek to
better understand the issues and concerns that confront
our city/state/country, and how the Gospel compels us
to respond as faithful citizens in our community.
We ask for eyes that are free from blindness
so that we might see each other as brothers and sisters,
one and equal in dignity, especially those who are
victims of abuse and violence, deceit and poverty.
We ask for ears that will hear the cries of children
unborn and those abandoned, Men and women
oppressed because of race or creed, religion or gender.
We ask for minds and hearts that are open to
hearing the voice of leaders who will bring us closer to
your Kingdom.
We pray for discernment so that we may choose
leaders who hear your Word, live your love,
and keep in the ways of your truth as they follow in the
steps of Jesus and his Apostles and guide us to your
Kingdom of justice and peace.
We ask this in the name of your Son Jesus Christ
and through the power of the Holy Spirit.

LIFE IN THE SPIRIT SEMINAR: Immaculate
Conception Parish will host a Life in the Spirit Seminar
beginning on Monday, November 7th at 7pm in the
St. Francis Room. The Seminar will continue for the
next 4 Mondays, ending on December, 2016. People
attending a Life in the Spirit Seminar have the
opportunity to experience the Holy Spirit as the
disciples did on Pentecost. Experience the power of the
Holy Spirit that the Apostles and early believers felt.

PRAYER ANCHOR: Would you like someone to
pray for your needs? A prayer line has been organized
in our parish to pray for special needs. Just call Gail

at 891-4206 who will begin the prayer line. All requests will be kept confidential.
Harris Teeter’s Together in Education program is
a fund raising program for schools (public or
private, preschool through 12th grade) in our
community. When customer s pur chase select
Harris Teeter Brand products using their VIC card,
Harris Teeter contributes a percentage of those
purchase dollars to the schools of their choice.
Schools use the money as they see fit on anything
from basic supplies to gym equipment or computers.
Immaculata Catholic School can receive up to two
checks per year for money to spend on their
educational needs. Starting August 1st each year,
parents and community members are able to link
their VIC cards to Immaculata’s Together in
Education school code. This one time sign up process
must take place each school year. Immaculata will be
linked to your VIC card until May 31. Look for
special promotions where you can earn even more
money for your school. Linking a school to your VIC

THIRTY-SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
PARISH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY MASS AND
CELEBRATION 2017: If you will be celebrating a
major wedding anniversary during 2017, please join us
on February 12, 2017 during 11:30am Mass. This year
only anniversaries of 25, 40, 50 or 60 years and more
may be ordered A parchment Papal Blessing from
Rome will be ordered in your name but they must be
ordered 2 months in advance. The cut-off date will be
November 20th,. Couples wishing to participate in this
special event should fill out the form located on the
book shelf next to the elevator located on the lower
level and mail it to address shown. A donation to help
defray the cost of the Papal Blessings and international
shipping would help keep this program going. Papal

MARY’S MISSION is pleased to announce that we
will be taking requests for the Pilgrim Virgin Home
Visit Program. A statue of Mother Mary is brought to
your home on a scheduled visit that lasts for one week
by members of Mary’s Mission, which is a ministry
under the auspices of Our Lady Undoer of Knots.
Families are asked to set up a little home shrine where
our Blessed Mother’s statue will be placed and the
rosary is prayed. There will be a table after Mass to
answer questions and to take requests for a visit of Our
Most Blessed Mother to your home the weekend of
November 12.
PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY on November 8 at
10am in the Conference Room. Would you like to be a
member? The ministry meets on the 2nd Tuesday of
each month. Please drop by and see what we do. Our
goal is to reach out to whose in need of comfort and
solace. We have reached out to many of our church
members and people in our community in the past
years. If you wish to receive a shawl to comfort you,
your relative or your friend, please contact Donna
Benning at 696-8500. We have a smaller shawl for a
child, should you need it. Many blessings are prayed
into every stitch.

get to Mass and would like to receive the Eucharist,

was established to provide aid to deserving students
who require financial assistance to meet tuition at our
parish school, Immaculata Catholic School. It is
through your generous contributions using the “Gray
Envelope Offering,” found in your monthly offering
envelope package, that Immaculate Conception
Church has assisted many deserving parish families
meet their education tuition cost. You make the

Remember, the St. Francis Fund “Gray
Envelope Offering” is the 2nd (Second) Sunday of

MINISTRIES FOR ADDICTIONS: Substance
abuse has become a major problem in Hendersonville!
It effects our parishioners. They either have an
addiction, know someone who is addicted, or have a
family member who is suffering from this terrible
disease. There is no shame in being an addict or having
someone close to you who is addicted. The only shame
is doing nothing about it. For more information
contact Raymond Messina at 551-7404. We have
meetings the first and third Mondays for family
members and friends. (Teens welcome) The second
and fourth Mondays are for substance abusers. All
meetings are from 7-8pm at The Cenacle, 718 Oakland
Street. All discussions are strictly CONFIDENTIAL.
Archdiocese for the Military Services Collection:
This weekend we will support our parishioners and
their families who serve or have served this nation
with distinction as members of the U.S. military. The
Collection for the Archdiocese for the Military
Services, USA will provide the Gospel, the sacraments
and other forms of spiritual support to the men and
women of the U.S. Armed Forces wherever they serve
and to veterans who are in VA medical centers. Please
prayerfully consider a generous contribution to this
special triennial collection approved by the U.S.
Conference of Catholic Bishops in 2012 and last taken
in 2013.

32º DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO
La primera lectura nos da pautas clave para darnos cuenta de lo difícil que fue para los judíos de este tiempo serle fiel a Dios. Si usted se toma algún tiempo en casa para leer más de este pasaje verá lo heroico de
los siete hermanos y su madre al dar la vida por su fe. La lectura breve que escuchamos de ellos nos narra
experiencias vividas por este pueblo 175 años antes de Cristo, donde todos los que creían y eran fieles a
Dios, resucitarían en el último día. Además, este pasaje ayuda a comprender el porqué los saduceos le preguntan a Jesús sobre la resurrección en la cual este grupo no creía. Ellos no aceptaban ninguna parte de la Biblia, excepto los
cinco primeros libros, no creían en ángeles ni espíritus. ¿Cuál es la diferencia entre los siete hermanos Macabeos y su madre
y el grupo de los saduceos? ¿Se ve algo relacionado sobre la forma de creer en nuestro tiempo?
Jesús clarifica donde estaban equivocados en su forma de pensar. Les dice algo completamente diferente. "No se casarán ni
podrán ya morir, porque serán como los ángeles e hijos de Dios, pues él los habrá resucitado" (Lc 20, 36). ¡Les revela el
misterio de la resurrección! Nada de lo que vemos en este mundo se compara a lo que vendrá. Todo depende de la fe, pero
algo es seguro, somos creados para la vida eterna, vida que ni siquiera podemos imaginarnos. San Pablo lo describe así:
"Que el mismo Señor nuestro, Jesucristo, y nuestro Padre Dios, que nos ha amado y nos ha dado gratuitamente un consuelo
eterno y una feliz esperanaza..." (2 Tes 2, 16).
Jesús les dijo: "En esta vida, hombres y mujeres se casan, pero en la vida futura, los que sean juzgados dignos de
ella y de la resurrección de los muertos, no se casarán ni podrán ya morir, porque serán como los ángeles e hijos
de Dios, pues él los habrá resucitado". - Lc 20, 34-36

Una Libro Memorial ha sido colocado en el

encuentra la pila bautismal de iglesia. El libro
contiene los nombres de los difuntos
registrados en nuestra parroquia en el pasado
año. Ustedes pueden añadir los nombres de
sus seres queridos que han fallecido en pasado año
para que durante todos a las Misas del mes noviembre
se esté orando por ellos. También ya están disponibles
los sobrecitos de oraciones por los difuntos después
de la Misa dominical de la 1:30PM, o también entre
semana en la oficina de la iglesia.
¡Atención lectores! Ya esta aquí el manual de
lectores del 2017. Favor de recoger su copia en el
cuarto de novias inmediatamente después de la Misa o
en la oficina de la iglesia durante la semana.

REGALOS PARA EL DÍA DE LOS REYES
Comenzando hoy domingo, 6 de noviembre
después nuestras Misas Dominicales, nuestra
iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción estará
tomando los nombres de los niños menores
de 10 años que recibirán un regalo durante la
fiesta del Día de los Reyes el domingo, 8 de enero. Para
recibir su regalo, los niños deberán estar presentes en la
Misa del día 8 de enero. Se les pide que se registre por
familia.
EL COMITE DE FLORES está necesitando más
personas para ayudar con el cuidado de las flores del
altar en nuestra iglesia principal y las plantas verdes que
se encuentran en nuestra Capilla de los Ángeles y en el

MATEO: La Diócesis de Charlotte está respondiendo
a la destrucción masiva y la crisis humanitaria que fue
resultado del Huracán Mateo al colectar fondos para
ser utilizados para apoyar los esfuerzos de

LIBRO DE MISAS DEL 2017
¡Atención Comunidad! El libro para pedir
una Misa por la intención de un ser querido,
difunto o vivo, o por alguna intención
especial durante el 2017 ya esta abierto. Si
desean reservar una Misa, por favor llamen
o pasen por la oficina de la iglesia en horas laborales
(lunes a viernes, 8:30AM a 7:30PM. Se necesita reservar
la Misa con al menos dos semanas de anticipo. Se
acostumbra dar una ofrenda.
FONDO PARA EL MANTENIMIENTO DE LA
IGLESIA: el próximo fin de semana, se hará la colecta
del sobrecito amarillo, el cual es para el Mejoramiento
de la Iglesia y la Modernización de la escuela. Esta
colecta es importante para las reparaciones grandes de

EL BAUTISMO
Los bautizos son el primer domingo del mes, después de
la Misa de la 1:30 PM. La clase de preparación, que es
un requisito para los padres y padrinos, tendrá lugar el
sábado a las 10 AM, en el Salón San Francisco. Por favor
lleven una copia del acta de nacimiento (No se aceptan
tarjetas, tiene que ser una acta con ambos nombres de
los papás). Requisitos para ser padrinos: Ser bautizado y
tener la intención de asumir las responsabilidades, tener
uso de razón, haber cumplido 18 años, estar confirmado,
haber hecho su Primera Comunión y llevar una vida de
fe. Los padrinos han de ser solteros o casados por la
Iglesia Católica. No pueden vivir en unión libre, ya que
deben de ser modelos de vida cristiana para los ahijados.
Para preguntas favor de llamar a Feliciano de la oficina al
693-6901. Los niños deben de tener la edad de 0 a 6
años. Si son mayores deberán atender la clase de la
Primera Comunión y un mes antes de terminar la
Primera Comunión serán Bautizados.

PEDIR
UNA
MISA
Para pedir una Misa por la intención de un ser querido,
difunto o vivo, llame a las oficinas de la iglesia al
693-6901 en horas laborales (lunes a jueves, 8:30AM4:30 PM, y viernes 8:30 AM-1:00 PM). Se necesita pedir
la Misa con al menos cuatro meses de anticipo. Se
acostumbra dar una ofrenda.
ALCOHÓLICOS ANÓNIMOS
Es una comunidad de hombres y mujeres que comparten
su mutua experiencia, fortaleza y esperanza para resolver
su problema común y ayudar a otros a recuperarse del
alcoholismo. El único requisito para ser miembro de
A.A. es tener el deseo de dejar la bebida. Para mas
información sobre los horarios, favor de llamar a 828708-2282 o 828-676-7903.
¿POR QUÉ DEBO REGISTRARME EN MI PARROQUIA? Registrarse es muy importante para poder inscribir
a sus hijos en el colegio Immaculata, para el matrimonio,
para bautizos, Quinceañeras, y para cartas de
recomendación (Inmigración) de la Iglesia diciendo que
usted pertenece a nuestra congregación. En los archivos
parroquiales estará su nombre y será fácil encontrarlo
cuando usted solicite algo. Cada mes se le enviaran los
sobres para la limosna con su nombre y cuando utiliza los
sobres de la donación, la oficina parroquial reconoce que
usted es un miembro activo de nuestra congregación. La
cantidad donada no importa, su ayuda sí. El paquete de
registración lo pueden encontrar en el cuarto de las novia (a
un lado de baño de las mujeres), y también puede ser
encontrado en la oficina de la iglesia.
TARJETAS DE COMPRA: Por favor recuerden comprar
sus tarjetas de compra de las tiendas de Ingles y Fresh
Market, después de la Misa para beneficiar a nuestra
escuela de la Inmaculada. Al comprar un tarjeta de
comparas, ustedes recibirán el valor total de que pagaron en
sus tarjetas y el 5% de sus compras de tarjetas beneficiaran
directamente a nuestra escuela de la Inmaculada. Para
obtener su tarjeta de compras, lo único que tienen que hacer
es pasar a la mesa de ventas a la salida de la iglesia.

LA PRESENTACIÓN DE LOS NIÑOS
Cada segundo domingo del mes se invita a los niños y
niñas que cumplen los tres años ese mes para recibir
una bendición especial, junto con sus padres y
padrinos. Al igual que José y María cuando llevaron al
Niño Jesús al templo para consagrarlo al Señor,
también reconocemos que los hijos son de Dios, y a Su
servicio y cuidado se los encomendamos. Para poder
participar, deberá darle al Padre Roberto un
papelito con el nombre del niño o la niña
claramente escrito antes de empezar la Misa. El
Padre Roberto los invitará a subir al santuario después
de la celebración de la Eucaristía.
INFORMACIÓN SOBRE DONDE CONSEGUIR AYUDA
Si quiere saber a donde y como conseguir ayuda para
atención médica, cuidado de niños, necesidades
básicas como comida, alojamiento, luz y agua,
consejería, u otros servicios humanitarios, solo tiene
que marcar el 2-1-1 y explicarle a la operadora cual es
su necesidad. Se habla español de 3 a 7 PM, y le darán
el nombre, dirección y teléfono de la agencia donde
puedan prestarle ayuda.
AVISO Puede conseguir muebles, r opa y ar tículos
para el hogar en el depósito del Buen Samaritano, a un
lado del Colegio Inmaculada. Abrimos los sábados de
10AM a 12PM.
También si usted tiene muebles,
artículos para donar en buena condición llame a la

MINISTERIO DE CUIDADO DE LOS ENFERMOS Si usted tiene algún familiar o conocido de la
comunidad que se encuentre enfermo y desea que se le
visité o se le lleve la Santa Comunión, bien sea en la
casa donde éste reside u hospital, puede comunicarse
