From the desk of the Pastor: A Christmas message…
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
As we begin another Church year, we will welcome the new Roman Missal of the Catholic Church. We begin Advent with the
new translation renewing our understanding of the great mystery of Jesus’ birth, death and resurrection.
I hope you will find ways and a time during this Advent season to simply breathe in deeply, and hold your breath. And in that
moment of holding, to be aware "in the twinkling of an eye", of all, the world contained in your lungs, all the spirit, all the hope of
your life and of those you love. And also the longer you hold your breath, that you will become aware too of the pain and hurt and
scarcity and deprivation, not only, in your life but in the world. In holding your breath, the beating of your heart becomes clearer
and louder, along with the sharpening of all your senses. That is like the waiting that is called Advent. And Christmas is like the
rush of new breath, new life, that comes filling us up once again, reminding us of the gift of Life we've been given.
Oh, Dec. 25th will come! Everything associated with Christmas may come--families may gather, friends will meet, presents may
be given and received, food may be plentiful, traditions may be kept. But still Christmas where it counts -- in depth of our souls and
the freedom of heart and joyful service of hands - that Christmas may not come.
So let us prepare ourselves with the reception of the sacrament of reconciliation, with Simbang Gabi and the Posadas and with
asking our dear mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary during her feasts days this Advent season, the Immaculate Concepcion and Our
Lady of Guadalupe to intercede for us so that we can truly focus on God’s gift of this Son, Jesus to our world and be able to focus
on the real work of Jesus Christ.
Christmas celebrates, imitates and initiates the Incarnation of God. On Christmas day we celebrate the birth of our savior and
messiah, Jesus Christ. We remember this great mystery with devotion and love. It reminds us of how much God truly loves and
cares for us.
I pray that this celebration of the birth of our Savior renews your faith and that you will, with the eyes of faith, be able to recognize the Word of God becoming flesh in you, in our families, in our parish and in our world.
May the Birth of Jesus, our savior give you renewed hope and peace!
I wish you a blessed Christmas and a prosperous year in 2012.

Desde el escritorio del Pastor: Un mensaje Navideño…
Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo,
Al comenzar otro año en la Iglesia, le damos la bienvenida al nuevo Misal Romano de la Iglesia Católica. Comenzamos con la
nueva traducción, que renueva nuestra comprensión del gran misterio del nacimiento, la muerte y resurrección de Jesús.
Espero que encuentren la manera y el tiempo durante esta temporada de Adviento para respirar profundamente, simplemente, y
contener la respiración, y, en ese momento, se den cuenta "en un abrir y cerrar de ojos" de todo el mundo contenido en sus pulmones, del espíritu, de la esperanza de su vida y de sus seres queridos; y también cuanto más tiempo mantengan la respiración, se
darán cuenta también de la pena y del dolor, de la escasez y las privaciones, no sólo en su vida, sino en el mundo. Al contener la
respiración, los latidos de su corazón se vuelven más claros y más fuertes, junto con la agudización de los sentidos. Que es como
la espera a lo que se llama Adviento. Y la Navidad es como un respiro de aire nuevo, vida nueva, que viene que nos llena una vez
más, que nos recuerda el don de la vida que se nos ha dado.
¡Oh, el 25 de diciembre vendrá! Todo lo relacionado con Navidad vendrá—Puede ser que las familias ser reúnan, los amigos
se encuentren, se den regalos y se reciban, los alimentos sean abundantes, las tradiciones se mantengan. Pero la Navidad que está
en la profundidad de nuestras almas y la libertad de corazón y el servicio alegre – Esa Navidad puede ser que no venga.
Entonces preparémonos con la recepción del sacramento de la reconciliación, con el Simbang Gabi y las Posadas y pidamos a
nuestra querida madre, la Santísima Virgen María durante sus días de fiesta en esta temporada de Adviento, la Inmaculada Concepción y Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, para que interceda por nosotros para que verdaderamente podamos concentrarnos en el
regalo de Dios de su Hijo Jesús a nuestro mundo y seamos capaces de enfocarnos en el verdadero trabajo de Jesucristo.
La navidad celebra, imita e inicia la encarnación de Dios. En el día de Navidad celebramos el nacimiento de nuestro salvador
y mesías Jesucristo. Recordamos este gran misterio con devoción y amor. Recordamos cuanto Dios verdaderamente nos ama y nos
cuida.
Oro para que esta celebración del nacimiento de nuestro Salvador renueve su fe y que ustedes, con los ojos de fe, sean capaces
de reconocer la Palabra de Dios que se convierte en carne en ustedes, en sus familias, en nuestra parroquia en nuestro mundo.
¡Que el Nacimiento de Jesús, nuestro Salvador renueve su esperanza y paz!
Les deseo una Navidad bendecida y un próspero año en el 2012.

the, we will gather to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation in preparation for Christmas. There will be several priests
available to hear confessions, in both English and Spanish.

St. Vincent de Paul - Giving Tree… SVdP is sponsoring the
Giving Tree to help those in need in our parish and a neighboring convalescent hospital. If you would like to help please
choose one of the gift tags off of the tree in the church, purchase the requested gift, and bring the gift to church with the
tag attached by Dec. 11. The party for the patients at the hospital is on Dec. 16 and the family gifts will be delivered on the
17th.
Next weekend, Dec.3/4 is the first of the month food collection. Items needed are the traditional foods for Christmas baskets. Donations may be placed in the containers near the entrances of church or brought to the SVdP office Mondays,
Wednesdays, Thrusdays or Fridays, 4-5pm. Thank you for
your support.
San Vicente de Pablo-Arbol Generoso… SVdP patrocina el
Arbol Generosos para ayudar aquellos en necesidad en nuestra parrqouia y el hospital cercano. Si desea ayudar, por favor
escoga una de las etiquetas de regalo del árbol en la iglesia,
compre el regalo solicitado y traegalo a la iglesia con la etiqueta pegada el 11 de dic. La fiesta para los pacientes es 16
de dic. y los regalos para las familias serán entregado el 17.
El próximo fin de semana, 3/4 de dic. es la colecta de comida
primero del mes. Se necesitan las comidas tradicionales para
las canastas de Navidad. Donativos se pueden poner en los
contenedores en las entradas de la iglesia o traelos a la
oficina de SVdP el lunes, miércoles, jueves o viernes, 4-5pm.

Simbang Gabi… Christmas is just around the corner. And
Christmas means Simbang Gabi, the nine-day dawn Masses in
preparation for the birth of Jesus. As in the past, we will have
our Novena Masses from Dec. 16-24 at 5:30am followed by
breakfast and fellowship in Mc Collum Hall. The Fil-Am community of St. Clement is now looking for sponsors for Simbang Gabi. Please call the office for sign-ups and more information.

Children 2nd thru 8th grade are needed to make our live Nativity a very special activity for the Mass. All children qho can
come to the rehearsal/practice on Saturday, Dec. 17 @
10am in the church can be part of the Nativity. Please call 
Outdoor Flower Donations… as part of our 60th Celebration
we are asking for donations of outdoor plants and flowers so
that we may decorate and adorn our St. Clement statue at the
entrance of McCollum Hall. You can also, make a money donation to help defray this cost.
