Rectory: 4:00-6:00pm & 7:00-9:00pm entertainment starts. The church is the primary place we come to spend time with and be intimate with God. SPECIAL COLLECTION THIS WEEKEND-RELIGIOUS RETIREMENT We will have a special collection this weekend for the Religious Retirement Fund. Please remember with generosity those who have served the Church. OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE This Sunday we will honor our Blessed Mother at the 12:00 noon Spanish Mass, St. Paul. Following Mass, we will have a celebration (1:00-9:00pm) of food, folklore, & fellowship. Everyone is invited! Golden and Silver Wedding Anniversary Mass Celebration 2014 Couples celebrating Wedding Anniversaries of Silver (25 years) who were married in 1989 or Golden (50 years) who were married in 1964, are invited to Mass at St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Savannah on Feb 9 at 11:30am. A reception follows the Mass. Please phone the church office by December 27 so that we can inform the Diocese. ***************************************** PRISON MINISTRY & FOOD DRIVE The Knights of Columbus are currently sponsoring a food drive. Please bring canned and/or dry foods to share with others. Also, the Prison Ministry is in need of soft-backed books; “Matt’s Ministry” basket is in the gathering area. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME & TALENT “Thank you” to everyone who made lap-afghans for the Pinewood Nursing Home in Whigham, Ga. in honor of Joan Coburn Mills. We achieved our goal of 65 afghans for the residents. ST. WILLIAM PARISH CHRISTMAS PARTY St. William will have their parish Christmas party 4:00pm, December 22 at the church social hall. Please speak with Sherry Jasko or Mary Clements if you would like to bring a covered dish. FROM FATHER NICK Church Decorating Party – Anyone who would like to help Fr. Nick decorate the church for Christmas is invited Thursday, December 19 at 6:30pm. This year we will debut our “large” nativity scene (standing figures 2 ft. tall) in a new manger. Cookies and drinks will be provided. Please call the church office (384-3560) if you can help. Surgery again! FYI - Fr. Nick found out that he will have to have his second knee replaced soon. Surgery will take place Monday, January 3, 2014. CHRISTMAS RECEPTION AT THE RECTORY—DECEMBER 13 Mark your calendars! Fr. Nick will host a Christmas Reception at the Rectory, Friday, December 13, 4:00-6:00pm (for those who prefer to drive in daylight) & 7:00-9:00pm (for everyone else). Keep in mind that it’s an informal, “drop by” gathering, and Fr. Nick invites everyone to drop by for a few minutes to share some coffee, punch, dessert, and holiday happiness. If you would like to make a holiday goodie for the Reception at the Rectory, please phone the church office (384-3560) so we can make a list. Directions to the Rectory: From downtown Douglas—go north on US 441 (Madison Avenue). Just north of town, make a right on Walker and drive to the next light (Gaskin Ave. N). Go left. At the bottom of the hill, make a right on Briarwood Rd. (it’s a white wrought iron sign). The house is on the left (#623). ***************************************** ADVENT CONFESSIONS AT ST.
