JANUARY 1, 2011, THE SOLEMNITY OF MARY, THE MOTHER OF GOD If you are not feeling well, please do not drink from the cup. Since the celebration of the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God, January 1, 2011, falls on a Saturday, it is not a Holy Day of Obligation. Since it falls on a Saturday, the precept to attend mass is abrogated for all the faithful in the United States of America. St. Paul’s Ushers for December Gary Holland, Donna Kramer, Duane Benson HOLY FAMILY’S CHRISTMAS PLAY & PARTY Please join Holy Family Church in Willacoochee Monday, December 20 at 6:30pm as we prepare for Christmas with our annual Children‟s Play & Party. Everyone is invited! FOOD & TOYS COLLECTION AT HOLY FAMILY Holy Family is collecting non-perishable food items as a Christmas gift for a local family in need. Please bring food donations to church the night of our Christmas Play. Also, one of our children, Kate Wilkerson, is collecting toys for children in need. You can still donate a toy to Kate‟s Toy Drive the night of the play. Adult/Parent Faith Formation All adults from all three churches are encouraged to participate in the monthly adult/parent formation. The next session will be Saturday, January 8 at 11:00am and Monday, January 10 at 6:30pm, (Ward St.). We can never learn enough about our faith--come, learn, share! REMINDERS: At St. Paul’s, the calendars and budget envelopes will be available at the back of the church this weekend. Please pick up your envelopes and a calendar. “Catholics Come Home” is an evangelization initiative to welcome back to the Church those who wish to return to the practice of the faith. For he founded it upon the sea and established it upon the rivers.” (Psalm 24:1-2) How can we take credit for the good things in our lives when Psalm 24 reminds us that God created absolutely everything and everyone on the earth? Surely we all have an obligation to return a portion of our good fortune to the Lord, for without Him nothing would be possible. Muchas Gracias! Enero 1, 2011 - Solemnidad de María, Madre de Dios Ya que la celebración de la Solemnidad de María, Madre de Dios, el 1 de Enero de 2011 cae en Sábado, no será un día obligatorio. Así pues, el precepto de asistir a Misa en éste día es dispensado para todos los fieles en los Estados Unidos de América (Norma complementaria del Canón 1246) éstas reuniones de formación. La reunión el próximo mes será Enero 9 (Domingo, 11:00 am) en la Iglesia antigüa. "Católico vuelve a casa" es una iniciativa de evangelización para dar la bienvenida a la Iglesia a aquellos que desean regresar a practicar su fe. Esta iniciativa provee apoyo para todos aquellos que conocen la Iglesia como un lugar en el que las personas y las familias pueden encontrar bases sólidas y apoyo espiritual; que también provee recursos para las personas que deseen hacerse miembros de la Iglesia Católica.
